Beadwork Project #1 / Southern Plains Influenced Style Moccasin part 02

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

The "earthlodge / Beadwork in Progress" series shows the process of my beadwork projects from the beginning to the end.
This video is Part 2 of a two-part project titled "Southern Plains Style Moccasin".
If you are looking for tutorials on making moccasins, please go to:

My beadwork design is influenced by various tribal styles. I appreciate and love all forms of beadwork and my creations are based on what I've learned combined with my own personal take and approach. I am not looking to reproduce any particular tribal style. I am simply taking elements I like personally and incorporating them into my work.
If you would like to purchase any of the materials that I used in this video, here are some key resources:

John, because of your beautiful designs, I am beginning this project. It is so much more of a thought process than I supposed it would be. I'm getting frustrated with the beading...I'm on my third set of tongues. LOL My daughter keeps telling me it's going to take longer than I think. Then I heard you in one video saying it took several weeks for you to visualize and finish a pair and I felt somewhat more capable. There might be a finish line. Hopefully while i can still wear them, in Wisconsin. I love your moccasins!!!

@@annaanna-wm6nv Thank you for your question. This type of moccasin needs at least four weeks and more to be finished. Yes, if I feel the deal is fair, I sell my works.

Exelent beadwork and moccasin construction, watched several of your vids. Only one remark, stop pushing that needle all the way through the buckskin when beading. If you go halfway through you won't see any stiches on the backside. Your finishing nuts wil be on the outside under the beads, totaly invisible.

Hi, thank you for your suggestion!! Yes, I used to use that way before, but I stick with the way I am doing now, especially in making moccasin. I need more security when I pull inside out. But yes, I agree. That is another way of doing of Lane-stitch.

Very nice video - however - you didn't show how to turn right side out! My kids help me when I make moccasins because of my weak hands. I've told them no broken threads after the turn means I did the bead work well. Thank you for sharing.

I was wondering how to put cones on the moccasins, it seems pretty simple and yes, I would use brass cones because the silver ones seem to tarnish easily. What tribe uses this design, maybe Arapaho??😊❤

Back in those days, they pinched a cone-tip, but I use a glue 😁. The design ideas come from the Comanche, Kiowa, and Southern Cheyenne.
