Seriously most people in those areas are like that, just guidance is lacking yes and some need it more than others, there's a lot of work to do here but Trinidad is far from unsalvageable, actually it can be very quickly with the right leaderahip and foresight, Trini people arent bad people in general. People just want to be included and there are many ways to make people feel included at different levels...

I've been to laventille 'round Port of Spain many times. I know many hospitable people, like every part of the Country you got bad and good. The area though just has stereotypes of crime, gang warfare, corruption and cocaine, mostly from the past especially during the rivalry between rasta and Muslim gangs. I hope we get passed our differences and live in the beautiful diversity this country is blessed with. Love to all watching from Trinidad 🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹

Yes my man. My late wife rip ♥️ her father was from T&T I was there as a young white man back in 2003. I stayed in St Anns Port of Spain for a month and I rolled all over T&T. Always be my people. My daughter used to stay every summer holidays with her grandfather so she’s more Trini than her mother 😂 when I was about they thought I was military a mercenary but I was just a east end Londoner loving up the vibes. Bus up shop for me Roti and Liming on a Sunday great times. I even contemplated moving there but back then it was all about kidnapping that was the big news on the island. Glad you explored Trinidad 🇹🇹 it’s an amazing place but it’s the people that make it amazing. Bless ya sir big up 👊🏼

@@eileenwatt8283 I am sure the person was not talking about the sea. Trinidad was given natural resources that fuels the economy of the country. They don't have to depend on tourism. Because of the country's geographical position, the country cannot have clean water like some of the other islands. Every island was created differently for a reason. I have been to Jamaica several times and I know what he or she meant about the place being clean. Trinidadians should be glad that the whole population's electricity and gas are subsidized by the government. Education is free. How many countries have even free university education? Medical is free. It is only not free if you want to pay a fortune to a private institution. They complain about everything. I wonder why people from all over the Caribbean and other countries have been immigrating to Trinidad over the last century if it is so disgusting. I always say people are free ro leave.

I remember everyone were related to each other up there, I still don't know what started the war. I have never been up there since 2004, that is 20 years ago 😏

That’s nonsense. I grew up between trinidad and Brooklyn and I walk around Port of Spain and The Whole of trinidad freely by myself, even late at night. you just have to employ the same common sense you use in ny and you’ll be fine. I don’t go to gang land, even though I have relatives there, and all how they invite me over I pass on it. You just have to avoid risky areas and you’ll be fine. trinidad is ok once you use your head, curb your tongue and open your eyes, you’ll be just fine.

You did walk through Muslim City (9) but you didn’t go to Rasta City you were in Saint Paul that’s the (6)that area use to be Rasta city , next time go to Beetham which is the (7)that is consider Rasta City. Rasta City vs Muslim war was bigger but Rasta 7 and 6 separated. And as you noticed Canada area of Trinidad is essentially abandoned. ABG is (8) , that brother is correct . The Muslim (9) made a truce with Rasta City and they kept it , so it’s calm but right now (7) and (6) are currently still at war . As a Muslim of course I side with the (9) , but the brother gave you a pretty accurate history of the conflict . And although everyone mentioned that it’s safe , the war is not over , the war between 7 and 6 is still active .

That church has been there for more than a hundred years, in fact my parents were married in that church our lady of Fatima. that area had no gangs until the turn of the millennium, in fact that whole area was one for more than 150 years on top the hill. It’s sad to see what it has become.

Be careful coco Boy saying that you want two sides to unite which is correct to say to begin with but be careful how you said say in those Communities openly because you find some leaders but don't want to be friends with each other and you know you don't want them to actually take you out because this is the same situation that happens in Jamaica with a particular person which I will not mention but they wanted peace between two sides down there in Kingston and they set him up and got and they took him out so be careful when you go to those Caribbean islands and saying you want to two sides to unite openly stay safe cocco boy

Exactly what I was thinking, you can't just show up out of nowhere and say you want them to unite without knowing all the blood that has been spilled in the streets. Some can find it disrespectful. And being in one gang territory and asking for their rivals, that's silly.
