Most trinidadian who own things have become very paranoid about the criminals who prey on the hardworking people. You would have met some of them when you went laventille and sealots. If you camoe to Trinidad 30 or 40 years ago, doors would have opened to you automatically. Most Trinidadians are currently living in fear.

I have been to a couple of homes in Trinidad worth 1M+ USD and my friends have a KZread channel. 1. You and your approach are the problem, not the people. The people are often very friendly. 2. Put your camera away, talk to the people ON NEUTRAL GROUND, not at their home. ie a yacht club and possibly get invited back. Culturally the ultra rich tend to stay hidden, people tend to paint the “1 percent” in a negative light for various reasons(some reasons are just and some are just ignorant) here so it makes sense why most would not want any spotlight online. You’d quicker get an upper middle class to show you their homes but even then it’s rare that they’d want it to be shown on social media.
