BBC Fake Britain 13May-2013 09.15

This episode really underlines the problems of fake ID on the web and the need to make absolutely everything "trackable" from point of origin in the age of Chinese fakery on a global scale. From the BBC FakeBritain series - which we regard as a public service that deserves the widest possible global audience.

that's an interesting take... but, their defense is really whether the item was originally purchased by a licensed retailer or directly from the brand itself... ie, I wanted a part for a Sony camera and contacted Sony directly for the part... they ended up selling me a whole new product because they did not have the part and it was a great product... if something had gone wrong, I had receipts and purchase records that I purchased directly from them... they would not be able to use that excuse

The cigarettes that had Polish language warnings on them weren't counterfeit, but were contraband. Contraband cigarettes are real cigarettes smuggled from abroad, just not domestic duty paid. Counterfeit cigarettes are copies of real brands, but of inferior quality and also not duty paid. You shouldn't buy either one of them, because you're funding criminal activity, but if you're gonna buy and smoke illicit cigarettes, then at least smoke contraband ones. The reason illicit cigarettes even are a problem, is taxes. In 2023, with prices of high-end cigarettes costing over 12£, I totally understand why people buy illicit cigarettes

When it comes to electrical goods , only a licensed retailer can on-sell electrical products in Australia . Australia follows vary similar laws to the UK . If an individual buys goods online ;, and it’s not from a licensed supplier that person can be fined $10,000 . Why doesn’t your government have these laws to protect the consumer ?

I'm not inherently against doing business with China as far as manufacturing, but they really need to do their part to abate the counterfeiting and deadly crap that comes out of the country. But, let's consider the platform we are on now. There is a science researcher who has an accredited lab in which he has been testing food & supplement products that come from China, for lead and other toxic substance levels and he has found them to be quite problematic. He reported about it on all his outlets. He is highly critical of many, including pharmaceutical companies, and has been building a sizable audience for over a decade now. Sometime within the last year YT disabled his channel. He is typcially known as the Health Ranger, Mike Adams and has a site called Natural News and others where his content about his findings about Chinese food and supplement products might still be found. I do think that the main reason he has been disabled on KZread is that he does reporting with/through Info Wars as well as his own reporting and Info Wars was also disabled. I believe Mike does provide real, substantial information and he may not always be 100% correct and maybe he is even biased one way or another, he seems quite the Trump supporter, which I find suspcious. Not that I am convinced that Trump is all that bad or good, but I think anytime a public influencer who is known for playing the Devils Advocate, takes a seemingly uncritical stance for any politician or party line, they then become something else through a conflict of interest.... maybe there are other terms to apply to that situation. At any rate, I think Mike Adams has presented some great truths about problems with food and supplement problems, but if you are going to look at his material, it is important to go into his subject matter with an open mind, let's just say. At any rate, I don't think it was right for YT to disable his channel and many of the other channels they have been pulling. But, if you are a Trump hater, and you have a problem with this kind of activity, he is making attempts to do something about the China manufacturing problems... whether the attempts will have or are intended to have anything to do with counterfeiting, remains to be seen. But, would the other side that Trump won out over have done anything at all? I do not think so.

this is one of the reasons why the brands encourage that their products be purchased directly from them and their licensed retailers... they are still having manufacturers in China create perfectly fine products... to fight this problem, I have heard that the new trend US firms are turning to, is to have portions of various products produced in China and some in the US, where the final products are assembled and no manufacturers in China have access to the full "blue prints" to manufacture the final products

Maybe a genuine charger prevents a child from getting electrocuted...

Tests on the fake charger found it had serious defects, with the wires within it dangerously close together, meaning it could become live and electrocute a user. The gap between the primary and secondary circuits was 1mm wide, compared with European standards that require a 4.6mm gap

Think back to the horse meat scandal, 100% beef went to 100% beef ish with horse meat mixed in that sometimes was unfit for consumption. McDonalds food is pure chemicals you eat, etc etc. those punishments should be 15 years for fraud, not fines or suspended sentences.
