Tried watching another beginners tutorial for swords but gave up on it, this is so much better. You're teaching shortcuts and methods that will save users tons of time in the long run. The other video I watched did everything by hand, no shortcuts, not even G or S.
This tutorial is amazing, I'm struggling to keep up with the video but I pause unpause and go back. In the end it makes me learn the shortcuts even better. Good job and thank you so much!
« إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ۚ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا صَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوا تَسْلِيمًا »..
This tutorial really helped me make a pretty epic first project! Thanks for being so detailed in your explanations
the amount of questions and all the struggles i had were all fixed in this 1 video thank you
Really Good Tutorial, step by step, very easy to catch up even for beginners. Thanks!
Man. I downloaded blender 30 mins ago and i can follow u vid as an absolute beginner 👍. Great vid 😊
super simple and quick tutorial, loved it!
Your video is very helpful and detailed that even an amateur who is alienated from Blender like me can understand. Thank you very much.
Love your tutorials brother!
Honestly love the sound of the family in the background. That’s exactly how it would sound if I did a video too! Lol great tutorial
This is a fantastic tutorial!!! So helpful!
Just perfect. Thanks a lot.
Thanks for the tutorial, it was really helpful.
thank you so much for this amazing tutorial you have wonderful way in explain and how to use shortcuts i am really get much information and you deserve all support wish you arrived to million and good luck great job
It is amazing! Thank you so much my friend!
Это прекрасно, спасибо тебе
When he says "It doesn't have to be exact". I just get this awful feeling inside xD But in all honesty, this is probably the best tutorial I've watched.
Great teacher , u r intelligent , thanks a lot
Thx for this, helped me a lot

Very nice i made the same almost
First Comment! amzing tuts man!
In the 3.6 version, in this part 3:17 select the round surface and then choose smooth, and then for a perfect smooth, you need to scale it in the point it doesnt cover each other verticle and then repeat it. Hope it helped.
exelente
If you get a cylinder, change the segments to however many you want. Just make the cylinder thinner after that, then boom you have a blade.
thanks
he does everything very clear, showing the shortcuts and the instructions very easy to understand. There is just one problem, this was 2 YEARS AGO so the blender version he is using is different to the one that is right now in 2022 so... this tutorial could have beeb very useful if it wasn't for the Blender version

Tipp: Instead of duplicating 25 times use the array modifier, saves you a lot of time
So i added the bevel modifier to the guard thingy, but it doesn't have any effect? I have selected it and I did everything you did, and the bevel mod worked earlier but now it doesn't change anything. The other modifiers work on the hilt, just not bevel.
When you're finished modeling all of the parts, do you boolean them together to make them one object, or do you just use the join command to kind of glue them together? Essentially, how would you prepare this to be exported as a single sword asset instead of a collection of sword parts?
@kalubandali2241
2 жыл бұрын
Use the join function in the object menu or Cntrl J
i do every thing you say to a t but once try putting in the bevel modifier it does nothing, any idea why?
Hey when I try scaling the face for the cross guard like at 6:55 it scales only the face smaller and doesn't make it taper like yours. I'm using the newest version of blender, have the mirror modifier set up like yours, and haven't applied it this point.
@jassaic_the_psychotic5193

same for me i cant seem to figure out how to get more than just one face to move
me the entire time: OMG! WOAH, WOAH?! OMG WOWOWO
How did you group all the handle leather thing into only 1 cylinder?
The bevel modifier worked when I placed it above the mirror modifier.
hey! sorry but- when I add the modifier it does not mirror it? like I did what u said in the video 3 times.

I have the same exact problem! Did you find a solution?
Why do you need to delete the faces? Does it cause problems with textures in the future?
good tutorial, just an fyi though, the habaki you added is really only seen in japanese swords. the type of sword you were modelling would generally just have a ricasso.
Hi, thanks for such a great tutorial and your comments, it's a really nice way to teach people. Only one problem I want ask about: when I add "Bevel" modifier nothing happens. At all. Even when I modify adjustments, like Angle. or Amount, or Segments. Do you know, how it fix? What's wrong? I did 3 times from beginning, but there is the same problem.

If you have bad topology then it will likely break as well.

@@croanna_ You might also check for interior faces as well or verts that are too close to the edge you are trying to bevel, which will cause it to break.

I had the same problem, but I found that is was mostly due to bad topology, to fix it I selected the entire shape, pressed Shift+N selected it all again, and then when to mesh > clean up > merge by distance. it worked instantly but you might need to change the area it merges.
Hey I tried to do the loop select but does not seem to be working I click on the line and nothing happens anyone knows why ?? at 13:21
I do the same thing wiht c trl b, but not work no matter i doing. In other area work normally, but where i have change with c trl not work.
Yeah uh, the bevel modifier doesn't work and I'm stuck.
I very much enjoyed this. It was fast to be sure, but nothing the pause and 5 second reverse can't resolve. The only Issues I had were at 12:55, where It would not scale the duplicate but instead scale the entire blade. I found that duplicating it off to the side (I moved it away by about -0.8445 on the y axis) then followed the alt+s command to adjust it, before moving it back the exact distance to it's original position worked. Not sure if I messed up somewhere or not. The second issue was at 15:15, I was unable to mimic the alt+s command to reflect yours. It just mangled the whole object somehow instead. Pretty from then on The steps yielded nothing or mangled results, so I just deleted that object entirely and moved on. Same finally with 16:45 and beyond. Again with Alt+s. I'm not sure where I am going wrong, and I understand the age and/or interest of this video might have dropped since it released and such, but any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Otherwise, very great video and gave me a good idea of how to start doing my own stuff

ik im kinda late but the way i found this to work is to duplicate with alt+s and then press S to scale and X to scale in the X axis that way I managed to have it like outside since right clicking and then scaling was not working for me, hope it helps!
Howcome when I add a Subdivision mod it makes blender crash
Can´t loop select? instead of shift alt try double clicking
My bevel modifier doesn't seem to change anything at all, following along exactly as the video suggests.

I had this problem too. For anyone else struggling, try toggling “clamp overlap” in the Geometry section of the Bevel modifier. Also try merging some vertices.
im stuck at 2:25 how the heck do you do that without selecting the whole thing? its a pain in the butt cause my brain doesnt understand crap

@@Synthwalk you’re a lifesaver! If you add the rotation in edit mode, jump back to object mode and under ‘object’ at the top, select apply > rotation. This will set the values to 0 and then you can mirror on the Y axis.

Add it before the mirror modifier. After adding, click on the little arrow next to the camera icon in the bevel modifier and click move to first. Edit: Actually first check if the mirror modifier is enabled on the x axis, it should only be on y axis. For me it turned on by accident or maybe I forgot to turn it off idk.

Subdivision is not the answer to modeling. You end up with too many vertices. Not the best way to teach modeling. A few swords in your scene and your computer croaks.

Ohh, really. I can tell you for a fact that even Pixar and animal logic use subdivision modelling. I know this because I have friends who have worked there as 3d generalists, plus I've worked in the industry myself.

@@PIXXO3D Great video! Learned a lot! However, while I am not sure how polygons impact performance, I noticed that when trying to import my model into games, subdivision modeling increased my poly count to impossible amounts and just removing them reduced it to a fraction of what it was previously. It looks gorgeous, but I think it may adversely impact performance. I may be wrong but I think its worth noting.
