@@Polyfjordwait are we referring to the "X vs Y vs Z amount of resources" format? I mean.. That's.. Kind of an old thing. We did that as kids in high school in arts and music classes. I wouldn't call "giving yourself progressively more resources to see the outcome" necessarily anyone's specific format. I mean, the UK even did that with colonies :'D

I'm not an artist, I'm a software developer... but i really identify with the way in which you spent so much time thinking about landing gear and ended up with a final product with no landing gear.

I love that format. I especially like that it shows that modelling isn't as quick as one might think. It gives me motivation, because as a beginner modeller (I have experience with Blender, but not with modelling that much) everything seems just to be slow when modelling something with high quality (when you compare it to e.g. creating materials).
I’ve seen your instagram posts on your spaceship project and I swear the level of detail is insane, it boggles one’s mind😂

i have to say i agree. however the stage being outside of the space ship seems odd as well as the rails. assuming that the majority of the time the ship will be in space.
i wish there existed accessible technology that i could just take a tour of the gigantic ship coz it looks absolutely huge and beautiful i must say. 100 hours seems like a long time but not even close enough time i'd need to make such a ship from scratch. amazing work as always!

Had this exact same question. Thanks a ton !
The general style of the second one really gave off the feeling of a society that got so advanced at physics and technology that it was more pertinent to make cool and aesthetic designs, but the 100 hour design was just absolutely gorgeous. It really makes me want to get used to Blender's hotkeys and learn them so finding the tools doesn't interrupt my workflow :P

@@Heisenberg48346 he made a camera following a circle path (or every kind of path) while having a constraint (track to) an empty object. This videos are always so relaxing and as a blender user, when you actually understand what is going on is so interesting Btw: breathtaking views 2nd edit: what a beast of a laptop, the few times I've tried to do motion tracking, my PC goes crazy slow, and I can't believe you managed to do that in the middle of a mountain with an actually portable laptop, I know it's not a complex scene, but still impressive
This video helped so much , as someone with adhd i get bored/distracted and want to move on to other projects to quick if the current one is taking too much time for what i want from it, seeing this helps me know even the best of people need to put the time in to get something amazing. my 1-10 hour projects come out like yours do so this actually gives me the motivation to put the extra time in and just see what happens. Thank you, great vid as always

This is amazing! I really like how each of the ships grew with the scale of the time invested! Also, not going to lie, I find the idea of having premium apartments with thrusters directly above to singe your hair deeply amusing.

Honestly, the first hour of the first spaceship was a lot more difficult than the first hour of the 100h spaceship. Just practicing those two times made a huge difference!! So I wouldn't be discouraged! (Also I should add that doing jumpcuts and timelapses makes stuff appear *a lot* more impressive than it felt like actually modeling)

Man hats off to you. You really committed to making a monster spaceship.
This was a very inspiring project, expecting more!
Whilst it looks incredible, I think walking balconies and an outdoor amphitheater are interesting choices for a spaceship. Imagine slipping off in low orbit and falling thousands of feet; in open space, you would potentially just float away. Also those jets would probably make some of those sections kind of toasty. Feels in many ways more like a hovering cruise ship than a true space faring vessel, but that's fine, still looks jaw-dropping.
This is so cool. So much effort put into this video it's insane and I respect it so much
