Hey! In the comics Detective Chimp was super-intelligent to the point that he could understand what humans were saying even before he gained the ability to speak, and went on to steal Batman's title as the world's greatest detective. The crime was in Gotham so he wanted Bruce's help to track the person in question down since that's his home turf and he needed the assistance from someone who knew Gotham. When Bruce refused and said he was doing another case, Bobo instantly solved it so Bruce would come help him out. Detective Chimp already knew who the criminal was, he just needed to track them. Also, later it was revealed that the dog was Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and the mall Santa was the actual Santa. Comics are fun like that. It was in the 2016 DC Rebirth Holiday Special, if you wanna read the story for yourself.

Agreed. I like having a little column A, a little column B. I'm just glad he doesn't completely for-go using the original shots. He uses whatever resources he sees fit. He doesn't just lean into one specific art style or genre. It's creative and interesting seeing entirely new frames from scratch, but there is something to be said when it's the original frames, or even incredibly convincing superimposed frames. Those get me the most. When you can't even tell the difference. He's done that like, once or twice.

I don't know the proper terms for this kind of stuff but I think they need to be more "granulated", drawn with vivid colors but make them artificially dull in post, and slightly blurred.

Well they're all the smart ones. one EP of superfriends had the team needing to make some formula and it's wonder woman that does it.

I was binge reading the Super Friends comics a while back and it was surprisingly engaging...even with Wendy, Marvin and Wonder Dog there. There were a lot of unique scenarios, story arc callbacks and interesting means of defeating villains that usually required a surprising amount of understanding of science, geography, and social studies in certain cases. Also, they explicitly talk about the issues of murder and potential genocide at a few points. That was unexpected.

Apache Chief, El Dorado, Gleek and the Wonder Twins are the only ones not part of the Justice League, Black Vulcan is basically another hero as has been said. All the Green Lanterns have been part of the JL and more, seeing how Simon Baz and Jessica Cruz aren't here...Jessica being the most noteworthy one since she at least appears in the League Of Super Pets movie and various seasons of DC Super Hero Girls...but a lot of people seem to ignore that show. There are other Earth Green Lanterns, but one is associated with the Justice Society and the other with Young Justice...

Detective Chimp has never been on the "main" Justice League's core lineup, though he has been a member of Justice League Dark (a spinoff group focused on magic) and is considered a reservist. There are very few living heroic characters in DC who couldn't be considered Justice League reservists, mind, since the team is influential and well-connected enough that anyone whom they ask to show up generally will.

I love how superman gives his honest opinion midway about how he thinks detective chimp is just a regular monkey.

These kind of videos are what's keeping people's enthusiasm for DC alive.

Well 3 green lanterns can be useful. Green lanterns patrol massive parts of the galaxy so you can always have at least one

They were only made for toys that DC wouldn't get revenue for. And Chief has the same powers of the Atom. Like Black Vulcan being royalty-free Black Lightning. I think El Dorado had tornados right? Which would make him the discount Red Tornado.

All of the Green Lanterns shown are from Earth. Also all of the Green Lanterns shown are the modern Oa, Guardian based Green Lanterns who belong the the Green Lantern Corps. None of the magic based Green Lanterns that have a weakness to wood instead of the color yellow appeared.

Batman later funds the space station that Justice League HQ.

I remember when I first found this channel and was really suprised how good solid jj was able to recreate the vibe of these cartoons, the music the voice acting, the sound effects are on point. One thing I was worried about he will run out of ideas, but I'm glad I was wrong

I'm surprised that superman didn't even mentioned the wonder twins.

The ending punchline was really obvious but it still made me laugh.

If Batman's shocked on how there are three (or four) Green Lanterns, we can only wonder about his reaction to an entire corp of Lanterns, and that's not even the only corp!

This was so simple and yet very well made! The sound track adds a nice touch to it. Felt like I was watching a Boomerang short.

I like how Solid JJ completely and conviniently ignores that Batman is a f-ing founding member of the Justice League. 😂

It's funny how realistically in this series, Batman could foreclose on the Hall of Justice if he wanted to. It's also funny how Superman just dropped the charade at the end and called it a literal punchline.

To be fair green lantern is just a really convenient hero to have on a team, the more you have the more stuff can be solved simply by using the ring... As long as you remember to charge it before going out of course

Gleek is an alien monkey. Slightly more intelligent than an Earth monkey. Has no powers other than understands English but can't speak. Probably understands other languages. The pet of Jan and Jace, twin aliens that can shape change but only when they touch each other. The three of them were sidekicks for the Justice League in one iteration of the Super Friend's cartoon.

I love the fact that Gleek was the one that set Batman off despite him having no clue who he is or what he's about

Batman: Sure send me the bill. *Months later,* Batman: Ask Gleek or one of the 4 green lanterns to pay for it, i quit.
