A few years ago while fishing a tiny pond, I hooked into a 7" and 12" largemouth at the same time using a Rapala Jointed.

And the legend does it again.!! the double fish on one lure! i bow to you my lord haha

I love catching other black bass species besides largemouths I usually wade the spring runs in both Florida around fortwight and Gainesville

I have kayaked from the Ocoee dam down to the Hiwassee river a couple of times. I think I recognized a few of the places you showed. We saw a lot of fish but weren't fishing.

What a great river! Beautiful water, rock ledges and blowdown structure. Beautiful spotted bass! And a 2nd double! That was sick!! Would love to float that in my Hobie Outback with the Mirage peddle drive. You can hold your place in the current (or wind) while having both hands free to fish. Bought my first one 16 years ago (went into the tackle store to buy some hooks 🤣) and just upgraded to a 2019 version with the 180° (reverse) drive this spring. They are $$$ but worth every dime! More kayak float vids please. Loved this one!

John, I have fished the old Hobie extensively in ponds, lakes and rivers here in VT with nary a problem. The boat and drive have worn like iron. Still own the boat (GF uses it now). I bought the 2019 Outback to get the 180 drive (has reverse...the old boat is forward only), kickup rudder and way comfortable seat. After a full summer of use, I find I use the reverse constantly. It is invaluable to back out of shoreline trees/brush, work around docks and hold position in certain wind/current directions. It has largely stopped me from using an anchor. IMO it is well worth the extra $$. The Mirage drive works to about 6” of water (if you feather and flutter the fins they are still amazingly effective) or you break out the paddle. I hear the kickup rudder doing its thing on occasion. Used Hobies with the Mirage Drive are readily available and are a good value IMO. I turned 73 this June and am still fishing hard. Tight lines and keep up the great content!

Don't know how I missed this video! Good stuff John! It makes me wonder if I could float my 16ft v bottom down through that area if I keep my engine out of the water. I don't have a kayak nor do they make them my size, hehe.

I was planning on floating that stretch of river still hadn't made it those spots were healthy their eating good can't believe you didn't catch any smallies but it was still a good day

It is a nice place to fish where you’re at headed back up there in two weeks to North Carolina Tipton Creek I’m in plant city Florida

There are some giant spots in the lower ocoee. I fish it often best when TVA isn't running water.

We got in and there was no water flowing from #1. I can only imagine what all is in there, we saw plenty of nice ones that would follow up the lure but didn’t look to interested

Another awesome twofer video! Water looked like it was movin pretty fast at the ramp and seemed so calm where you were fishing. Was that downstream between the ramp and the campground? Looked awesome. Haven't been down there yet but I need to go!

Try watching the channel Thundermist Lures, might be using their tackle but you can the Steelhead, Lake run Browns and Kings that come into the Niagara River and Tributaries. Would be worth your time and a nice trip to see these things you can't there.
