Adam Lefebvre I agree they weren’t really nu metal, but really, all those terms are totally subjective, they only mean whatever people use them to mean, it’s not like there’s some “official” source of those terms which everyone agrees defines authoritatively exactly what each means. So call it metal, nu Metal, math metal, prog metal, whatever. I remember Mudvayne said in (probably more than 1 interview) they find this genre-defining thing very irritating altogether - they just want to play their stuff and not be placed into somebody else’s neat little box “defining” them.

I really appreciate seeing a person show such confidence in his speech, mannerisms and playing, at the same time he behaves so modestly. That's a nice combination of attributes in a famous musician.

Big Ryan fan. Huge sound that cuts through on Mudvayne. The respect he has for the other artists is pretty cool. Watching the Fuss on the Bus vid...his colleagues were just floored by his technique. Solid.

Ryan's bass playing is definitely out of this world and an absolutely wonderful pleasure to listen and hear. When I first heard the Mudvayne song Dig, my jaw dropped and I was just mind blown by his bass parts. 😎🤘🖤

I have so much respect for this guy. He was a fucking wrecking machine with Matt McDonough in Mudvayne. God, what a band that was. I still don't think he or Matt gets enough credit for their extraordinary talent, not like they need anyone's approval, but still.

You're as good a bassplayer as you are modest, Ryan. Which means that you're an inspiration both as a musician and a person. Truly class act. Keep up the good work!

I have been to countless concerts and seen countless bass players. Ryan blows them all away. He is simply the best. Unmatched in skill and technique. Go see Mudvayne if they tour near you. Watching him live is an experience in itself. So entertaining watching him perform on stage.

I remember first hearing Mudvayne when the Death Blooms music video came on, and being mind blown and scared at the same time. It was almost like the band weren’t real people, like they were monsters or creatures. It’s just funny how down to earth and completely human he is. Had the pleasure of meeting him in 2005 as well.

This guy is so awesome, he would give you the shirt off his back..... no really..... he literally did one time. At the end of a Mudvayne set at Ozzfest instead of just throwing guitar picks into the crowd like most do he took some of his clothes off and threw his boots and clothes into the crowd. Its been 20 years and I still remember it.
