    Thanks for posting the entire interview. The edited 7 minute version cuts him off several times and makes it seem like he’s scatter brained and strays off topic and doesn’t even make sense sometimes, which is an inaccurate portrayal of Ryan. Dude is not only a stunningly brilliant player, but incredibly intelligent and pretty humble as well, which is always pleasant to see in your favorite artists. Much respect to him

    When he's talking about "changing the radius", does he mean the profile of the neck? I thought the radius was always 26", but the profile of newer Thumbs changed to extra slim. Also, can the whole refurbishing be ordered by a regular Warwick player, and not an endorser?

    Great interview and loving Ryan's attitude and playing but I do have to disagree on neck dive being a first world problem. If you pay several thousands for an instrument, it should be perfect/exactly what you want. Not trying to hate, not trying to say you shouldn't get it, just saying that I, myself, prefer to play in the classical position and neck dive is a huge pain for me, so that is an important factor. Again, just for myself.

  • @cameronj279

    +Tobias Ommer They are a little neck heavy but from experience having owned 5 Warwicks in the past (2 of which were thumb basses). Nothing sounds like a Thumb bass. I found that when playing live I didn't have an issue with the neck because I generally have the strap relatively high up. If I wasn't for me having back and money problems I would still own that bass...infact I'm half tempted to buy it back just now if I'm honest! I don't play classical position as it's just uncomfortable for me but if I'm playing a gig I'm not sitting down anyway so it's irrelevant to me.

  • @MellonVegan

    @MellonVegan

    I totally get that. Well, everyone needs to find what is right for them. For some, some aspects matter, for others, it's other aspects. Which brings me back to my point, though. Instruments of this caliber are extremely expensive, which is why there are no such things as first world problems here. It should be perfect for you. Whatever that may mean, in the end.

    my bubinga corvette standard doesnt neck dive! especially since i got a wide padded strap, I definitely need it at 11.2lbs lmao, but ive never played anything like it, notes ring out really well thru the whole range, and with a bit of compression practically forever, put the gibson i had to shame
