A 4" back splash would be nice to stop bits and pieces from falling off the back. Once you get drawers in it's gonna be a pain in the neck to retrieve whatever falls back there. I have a similar set up except I did a level toe kick and open cabinets. I installed 1/2" plywood over the stud wall then scribed my worktop to it. Spriral downcut router bits are the bomb. Zero tear out.

Hello Patriot. Your video has inspired me to build my own miter station almost exactly like yours. I need to ask you if you dimensioned your 2x4s for this build. They look straight and they are all the same color but I did see some manufacturing stamps on them which led me to believe you did not plane or square them up. How important is it that you plane and square up these 2x4s for this build? Thank you and keep up the great work. You made it look so easy - but I'm a beginner and I'm sure I will have a harder time than you did. Maybe not though - with your video to reference I should be okay. Thanks again.

@@PatriotDIY yeah, it looks cool. But I still wonder if it's better to rely on measurements made on the wood that's getting cut with a tape measure, old school style. Wondering if people who put those into their miter tables, end up using and relying on them.

@@doctorr2 they are as accurate as your installation of them. Lock your blade down and and use a couple of different accurately cut or measured straight edges. If you take your time, your cutting table will be more accurate than any tape measure.

this bench is 15' long and 2' wide. The middle section for the saw should be made to whatever width you need for your specific saw.

Depends on where your saw fits on the bench. My saw has long bars in the back for sliding cuts so it had to sit further forward. My t track is about 6-8 inches from the front of the bench

Bought the plans a couple weeks ago and am going to get started next week. What router bit did you use to cut that daddo for the measuring tape? And I'm assuming you would recommend cutting that before dropping the t-track in? Lastly...bring on Part 2! 😂

Great looking bench. 2 sheets of plywood? is that solely to accommodate the T track?

  • @PatriotDIY

No. just makes for a much stronger bench that will last, especially with an 8ft length 2 sheets will help prevent sagging. And if you dont glue it your top layer can be removed and replaced easily if you want. and yes, it accommodates t track.

Did you try going to your Etsy account dashboard under purchases and downloading from there? Or from the download link in the confirmation email? Or try reseting your Etsy account info through the forgot login info section? Try those and if it doesn't work I'll refund you and you could try again!! I'm sorry Etsy couldn't work it out. I'll help anyway I can
