    0:44 I feel it in my lower back, and I'm sore in my back the day after like this and it feels like its too low down and at 0:58 this feels like it engages my abs the most it just feels more right, why is that?

    Should the body be a straight line (thus the spine slightly sloping towards the feet)? Or should the spine be horizontal, and then it's not one straight line, from head to toe?

    If elbows are on the ground then your body should be parallel to the surface. If on hands then you should be in a line to the surface.

  • @ribusgan

    @ribusgan

    @@sapphiragon6221 The elbow height and the length of feet is not the same. So there WILL an inclination from top to bottom. May not be as pronounced as if one is on hands. So, the body cannot be an unbroken line and also be parallel to the surface, even on elbow on ground position. In both case it is not possible. What is possible is, either 1) it's a sloping down straight line from head to heel, or 2) there are two straight lines - head to waist (parallel to ground) and waist to heel (sloping down) Which one is correct?

  • @sapphiragon6221

    @@ribusgan If on elbows you should keep your spine (head to butt) in a neutral position and parallel to the floor. Then from your butt to your feet there will be a slight downwards slope. Main thing is keeping your spine in a neutral position, pelvis tucked (to engage the right muscles) and torso parallel (within reason) to the floor.

    For some reason planks don’t work for me, I retract my shoulders, squeeze my gluteus, look straight forward and don’t sag, and ik for a fact it’s not because I have strong abs because I haven’t worked them out for a year, I could probably do a 30 min plank but my arms get tired or I get bored before I even feel a sensation in my abs. Could anyone help me? Is there some secret that switches on the intensity?

  • @connormccloskey2187

    You should not be retracting your scapula, you want a hollow back. You'll get as much out of a Plank as you put in so you should be squeezing your abs as hard as possible rather than just keeping your core tight.
