Welcome to our crazy life. We are a mom and dad that moved our two horse-crazy girls from the city to the country in 2020, right before Covid hit. So much has happened since then. We now live on a hobby farm with horses, goats, chickens, peacocks, guinea fowl, ducks, bunnies, a livestock guardian dog and house dogs that are adjusting to country living. It did… but now we are back to a few mild days and mud EVERYWHERE! Although, I am loving the mild weather and can’t wait for Spring! I am a Canadian girl who really hates the cold and winter. Scott and I were out tonight planning our Spring projects and can’t wait to get started!
So happy to see you guys back. Missed seeing you. I know that it’s hard to disregard the haters but you have so many people that really appreciate your family. Would love to see more of you guys again.❤

Thanks. I know… we are back. I am sorry for the long break. I have been dealing with some other things the last two weeks… but I am back! I am hoping to get the next video out in the next day or two. There won’t be such a long break again, don’t worry. 😉

Kate if you can put your thumb in the corner of their mouths then maybe the wormer might be easier,of course you may need someone to hold them. Lol, such a lovely video of the horses in the snow ,music perfect. Great video,thanks.

Yes, Scott and Kate often do it together, but she did it on her own this time. She is usually good at getting it in, but this time, not so much with Jack🤦🏻♀️🤣. Jack is always overly dramatic about dewormer 😂.

Not sure if this would help with the ones who don't like the dewormer get a syringe that has a bunch of applesauce or something yummy in it and give it to them to it 3 times then give 4 one the dewormer each time switch the number of when they get the dewormer so they don't expect it last.

Yes, that is how we trained Luna for the dewormer. They are so smart though and Jack knows when it is the dewormer ! 🤣

No kate,the jorses don't hate you, they don't like to have medecines. They prefer treats. Maybe you should start with a treat snd after the dewormer another treat😅. I don't know what You're measering, because it depends of their weight, not if they're fat or small....😊 Smd i think you know +/- their weigt, or not?
Is shay still riding
So the horses just go around in circles, grabbing a mouthful of hay before moving on!!
Maybe dip the whole syringe in apple sauce and hopefully the horses will be distracted with that taste while you are squirting the dewormer in.
Why is kate not riding duke

She will still be riding Duke, but he really doesn’t enjoy jumping and prefers flatwork, so she does Dressage with him. She was riding him at home as well, especially because we have had such a mild winter so the girls were in the outdoor arena until January (but it has been frozen since then). He has had a bit of time off this winter because our Dressage coach is currently down in Florida (she has the possibility of competing for Team Canada at the Paralympics if she can find a new horse that she can take to Paris). She should be home soon though and then Kate and Duke will be back in Dressage, Julia and Stevie will be doing Dressage, and Kate and Stevie will continue with jumping lessons. Then as soon as the weather gets nicer and the arena is dry, she will be working with the horses at home as well. So don’t worry, you will definitely be seeing her ride Duke this year 😊.

I love how Kate is learning so many aspects of barn management! While she was giving the horses their de-wormer, she approached each differently, but always with a calm demeanor. Okay, that white chicken you were holding, I would love to adopt her. Do you think she would like living in a condo, with a sometimes finicky creek out back?? It would probably be best to ask my friend to buy a couple. Julia’s smile makes me so happy! She loves those chicks, doesn’t she?! I have missed quite a few videos, so I really need to go back and see what I missed😊
