Thanks for the quick explanation! If you want to go even faster you can type the menu number as well (e.g. 26 for offset). That should save you a few more clicks ;-)

Best video about baofeng for dummies. It makes alot of sense to program only the frequencie and the offset. And the transmiting tone ,if needed. Didnt understood why tou press star key for! One love.

If you have it set properly in the vfo mode with the proper shift and tone, how do you get it in memory? I clear the memory (menu 28). And then try to write to that menu (menu 27). I find that either the shift or the tone or both is not recorded.

You have to first store the receive frequency first then the transmit frequency second with the shift ctcss, store both frequencys separately into the same memory channel and you should be ok! 👍

How do I save a custom frequency (i.e., 180.000)?? I go to frequency mode and input "180.00" and every key resets it to the previous freq. Thanks!!!

Hi this radio doesn't cover 180.000 mhz, it goes up to between 136 mhz - 174 mhz and 400 - 470 mhz, some baofeng uv82 model covers 130 mhz - 176 mhz and 400 - 520 mhz, but entering 180 mhz will make your radio reset to the previous frequency as it just doesn't cover 180 mhz! Hope this helps 👍
