Fun facts: This is Brighton in Brisbane. You can travel to the same destination by using the suburb's surface roads rather than the motorway, and there's also a bikeway on the opposite side of the road that is provided for this express purpose 😃

And why would the business go to the trouble of putting out witches-hats to discourage parking. I get the feeling there's something else going on which Council would need to resolve.

Pretty sure the sign she pointed at says parking is allowed but not 100% But the people from shop can't put cones out on a public road.

6:40 Sometimes it is necessary to reserve a spot for someone to deliver or pickup heavy items or a frail person. The decent thing to do is to respect this reservation. The lady who put the witches hat is there and explains why. Just move. Just the other day when I parked I saw a dude looking at me strangely. I asked was it OK. He wanted the spot free for a truck. So I moved. Better to be nice than to be nasty and perhaps return to a damaged car. 10:15 That is one feisty lady. O F! OMFG! OMDFG! Then she checks that the SBTF is alright before scolding him for his crazy driving. I love it!

Absolute madness here Scotty. Sbtf absolutely made a fool of himself on that roundabout. The two things that made my week is watching Queensland being flogged by NSW last night and this morning is catching up on last nights episode of Scott's car cameras. Delivering the goods as always. Cool classic cars at the end. P.S, hope NSW win the decider in two weeks.

For those wondering, the address of this is 54 King St, Sandy Bay, Tasmania. It is no longer a driveway where the lady parked. Once upon a time this was the driveway into the garage of the red house. This garage is now an Asian grocery store. This is a valid parking spot during certain times and a loading bay at other times.

Thoughts? Whether or not they have the right to block off the shoulder, businesses need to business, and that means sometimes they need to take deliveries by having a van park by a loading bay, which the pallets seem to indicate. And while our Karen might have the legal right, she a) isn't being considerate, could've back up closer to OP, b) appears to be blocking a driveway, and c) might possibly have been racist.

@@peterbartley7183 Thats like saying somebody backing a trailer into a driveway is unlawfully blocking a road. But we understand there is a bit of leeway. They can't claim that as their permanent spot, but they can take deliveries (like cars being delivered to a caryard would block the shoulder for a bit) but she has gone out of her way to be as disruptive as she possibly can be, and potentially illegally herself if blocking a driveway or loading zone. It would be interesting to know what the parking sign says, can't make it out.

RE the parking cone argument, we all know businesses don't have any legal right to put out traffic cones to "keep" a spot if they are expecting a delivery, BUT a courteous driver would find somewhere else to park - if that was a restaurant and you went there and were recognised.........Hawk Tauh !!!!

10:29 a typical night in Broadmeadows....

Looking at google street view, the sign says it's a loading zone from 8 - 10 (I assume AM but can't really make it out) Monday - Friday and a 1/2hr parking zone from 10 - 6 (i assume AM - PM, once again can't really make it out). So it would depend on the time as to whether or not she can park there, (assuming you consider that parking and not a deliberate attempt to curb her own wheels for some reason). Given it looks like their delivery van was coming in I'm going to assume it was between 8-10 in the morning and they only put the cone there as a last ditch effort to try get people to stop parking there when they're not actually allowed.

There is a sign that may or may not refer to that as a "loading zone" at certain times, and she is also parked in front of a drive way. Tow truck should have been called.

@@ScottsCarcameras Unless I am missing something, When you pause the video @ 6:59 behind the car you can see a driveway. The address is 54 King street Sandy Bay Tasmania. Looking at street view it seems that people are commonly parked in front of their driveway, Hence the Witches hats. The street parking sign should be repositioned so as to not give people the mistaken belief that they can park in front of a driveway.

Hi no the sign is correct and there for this reason , as they changed from a residance to a commercial premise they renovated the garage to be the shop and the driveway is the pedestrian entry to the shop , so the cut in gutter for old drive way is no longer used or classed as a driveway and is a parking spot efor people to stop and enter the shop ( or other palces ) they have another dock / entry to their shop on the next drive way you see in the clip :)

Hard to see the detail but from what I can see on my PC screen the signage seems to suggest it's a valid parking space, but maybe also a loading zone at some times (can't tell if applies at time). Why the signage starts the parking zone at that driveway I can't understand; maybe it's not a designates crossover for that property and Council has just signposted it as parking? Or maybe the signs are just awfully positioned. This one has me scratching my head.

FYI it was no a drive way , ( was when it was a house not anymore ) and parking in that spot on the street is allowed per signs :)

6:40 I would love to respect that car driver but the way she pulled in and reversed onto the curb shows a real lack of driving skills. Has no idea of the dimensions of her car. Holdens do not Hold On when cornering on a wet road....and driven injudiciously. Been there and done that myself. Falcons only a smidgen better....

6:42 There doesn't appear to be any indication the SUV driver can't park there, unless I'm missing more clues. It's hard to read the parking sign in the clip so I'm going by the body language of the SUV driver. Putting blockades (or witches hats) out doesn't change the law or community parking etiquette. I might have done the same as the SUV driver - just moved back closer to the DC car making no further allowances if the sign says possible and there was nowhere else to park.

@@Blanchy10 Read the comments properly. Do you see a bridge in the gutter? No. It is a pedestrain entrance not a vehicle entrance. Apparently this is a goods delivery parking spot at designated times..and a "free park" at others.

6:44 looks like a driveway into a business (correct me if im wrong) but it would make sense for them to put a cone out if people park there often, and you cant see any sign that says its okay to park there. the pallets and literal driveway give me indication that the woman shouldnt be parking there and the buisness has every right to put a cone there.

FYI that’s not their driveway. I checked into it because they’re using it as a business and not a residential entrance. That section is just part of the business and not a driveway and the parking signs out the front allow for the parking in that spot.
