Avi said that this EP was him trying something out of his comfort zone. The other two songs left on the EP are love songs, audio only. He is doing a show in Nashville at the Eastside Bowl on June 16th, in case you are interested.

I love when an artist tries new things, even if they are not my favorite. Love that he is willing to change things up and really surprise us.

I agree. Not every song needs to have some deep meaning, and this song was fun and upbeat! Now Uncanny Valley, one of the tracks from Avi's EP, has a great deeper meaning! Thank you for reacting to this one, I always enjoy your reactions to Avi, and I like how eclectic his music is. I hope that your next reaction will be to “Uncanny valley” from the same EP as I’d really like to hear your comments on and interpretation of the lyrics and the long outtro. In my opinion, it’s a masterpiece.

He said in an interview I watched (from a VIP q & a session someone posted online) that a portion of the reason that he wrote some of the more recent songs was because it is nice, in concert, to have some upbeat more chant-like songs to bring the energy up. I have never been a huge fan of repetition either. I still love the songs, but they don't move me the same. They are great as a life soundtrack (good cleaning the house music).

In performing this song on his current tour, Avi does an intro (as he also does with a couple of other songs) of the Ray Charles standard "I've Got a Woman" (assisted by Michael Alvarado), changing up the vibe considerably from the original. kzread.info/dash/bejne/mm2nztlmg5DPkrA.html (I do agree about the repetition. I've never been a fan of excessive repetition, and while I'm a big Avi-cionado, he does sometimes overdo it with repetition.)
