I like how Calvin started tearing up because he knows what's coming. I watched this show many times, but even knowing what's going to happen it still gets me each time. That moment when Yue disappeared. Sokka looking up at sky, his hand still in the same position where he touched Yue's cheek, the camera zoomed away from him making him appear smaller and smaller, and then the moon reappeared, and Sokka just keep looking at it. Although Sokka can still see her, but she is so far away, and he can never reach her. Although there were no words spoken, that moment just break my heart

It means a lot to see someone who actually understands the tragedy of Yue’s story. So many reactors brush it off and don’t care, but it really is sad, for Sokka and her dad, but for Yue especially

There's also Hahn. We never see him again and he was either thrown into the freezing arctic waters (as implied by the splash,) or thrown headfirst onto the deck from several stories up (judging by the layout of the ship). Either way, Zhao very likely killed a teenager in a pretty horrible way. We only don't include him in the death count because he's such a one-note asshole that nobody cares, and because the show has to gloss over the darkly comedic implied death of a teenager because of its target audience.

Did you recognize aaravos' voice as Koh the face stealer? He does such a great voice

This was the first episode of Avatar I saw. My family had cable for a few months when we moved across the country for my dad's job, and it was playing the night we moved in. Didn't make a whole lot of sense with no context, but it sure was visually impressive.

I have a theory that Yue's father sensed that Sokka truly loved her, and he took him off the mission so that he could be with her in her final moments.

I don't think it's aang doesn't work hard he does. He's also a kid. There's a reason they wait to tell the Avatar who they are when they turn 16. That's when they begin training. Aang was told early and never had a chance to go learn the other elements cause they were still training him on airbending and b4 he could finish he ran away.

When aang is in the avatar state his voice sounds like avatar Roku. But that’s what I think.

I don't personally think Aang WAS the one on that rampage. Obviously, he combines with/is taken over by the black koi fish, which is the ocean spirit. It's up to interpretation, but I believe the ocean spirit was in control of his body for that display. If you notice, once it sees the moon is back, the ocean spirit sets Aang down on the outer wall and then takes Zhao with it beneath the water on its way back. It's a minor detail in the grand scheme, but there's a very strong through-line with this series of Aang being a pacifist who believes all life is sacred. It's probably one of the many reasons he's so terrified of the power he wields in the Avatar State when he can't control it. I think the whole ending fight here is meant to be equal parts awesome, horrifying, and sad.

For me, red is a stressful color - I still don't understand why I have to associate it with positive things in Harry Potter. I had to remind myself that a streak of green light, during battles, means a death curse... I love nature and nature is mostly green.

I love the theory that Yue was supposed to be the next Avatar. Since she was born without the Avatar spirit, because Aang still had it, she needed some life force from another spirit.

1. The avatar spirit isn't what keeps the avatar alive, it's what makes him the Avatar. The avatar still has their own "spirit" like everybody else. 2. There is no set in stone destiny. Aang wasn't "supposed" to die right before Yue was born. It's whenever he dies, then the next avatar is born. All in all, that theory makes no sense at all.
