James Cameron is not known for complicated and unique stories, rather he’s known for the insane amount of detail he puts into them. Honestly it’s why I love this movie. I’m still finding new details that I didn’t notice, and that’s not just from a visual front

I don't understand how this movie still looks so good. Even in 2020 I can't think of any CGI that looks better off the top of my head. The colors are incredible. and you are right, it makes up for any stock characters or derivative story components. James Cameron literally makes new technology almost every time he makes a movie. He is a beast and is truly in his own league.

The War of the Worlds 2005 adaptation was a lackluster for its taste. The pacing were too rush and the acting ain't very realistic. It didn't give the feeling of dread and hopelessness in facing the extraterrestrials that wanted nothing more to wipeout mankind. The days timeline doesn't match up as well in this adaptation since from the original concept, it taken a long time for the aliens to succumbed to death from the Earth's microorganism.

I watched AVATAR when I was 7. Even now I can remember the sheer awe and love I felt for the characters and the story as I sat in the family room with my brother and parents. I remember how upset I got when I was afraid the Pandora would be destroyed and my favorite characters might die. I haven't watched that movie in years though I definitely need to. Even If it doesn't pull at me as much as the vague pieces of memory do it'll always have a special place in my heart as the movie I remember best from when I was little.

I love this movie, yeah the plots simple but I’m not there for that, the world building alone has kept me hocked for years. My friends hate when I put it on “the cgi is so out of date” yeah but.... I haven’t see anything better? Think of most movies with lots of cgi, it mostly look stupid. This, somehow avoided that even after aging so many years. It’s 2020 and this looks just as good as fucking last of us 2 that just came out. (No I don’t enjoy Lou2, not to say they didn’t do great on the look of it) Thats something I’ve never seen before and probably won’t unless James comes up with it himself again. If it be in the second movie or a totally new one 👌 hes definitely on another level
