Aurora - Murder Song 5,4,3,2,1 - Reaction Video. This wrecked me!!!

Aurora sings a song called Murder 5,4,3,2,1. Totally unexpected! What an incredible young artist. Seems so wrong for such a young person to face this kind of story, but also is SO right. Her incredible ability to completely pour herself into this story is something very special. I've never seen somebody demonstrate such emotion when singing a song. She is definitely in the moment. A must-watch.

So far as I can tell that story is apocrypha. The only primary source statement Aurora has ever made about the song is that the male figure in the song did love the female. That's it. The rest is all theory that got repeated so many times it has become fact.

Either way, it seems such an adult concept for such a young person to have to think about at that age. I think that is one main reason why it was so touching when I watched it.

Yeah, i've heard this story a lot as well. But Aurora has also always stated that her songs often have 2-3 layers of meaning, often one literal and many metaphorical. She has also sometimes wished she didn't share her own interpretation because that can ruin or stop fans from having their own personal takes. and Aurora has said many times that she loves that the music continues to live its own life out in the world and take on new meanings even she could never imagine. As long as they start a conversation or touch a person that is enough and almost more valuable. I personally often hear this song as a desperate cry from an abuse victim trying to justify why their abuser does what they does, rationalising that it must be for their own good, while still admitting to the abuse. But other times it sounds more like a situation like with a mercy killing. it's one of the things that keeps me coming back to Auroras music. that depending on my mood her songs can be viewed so differently and apply to so many life situations

Spot on: 19 years old. Spot on: Deep lyrics. Spot on: The most expressive and artistic singer out there. Well, that's Aurora. Extremely mature for her age. Maybe you would like Runaway at the same concert, which she wrote at 11 and/or Lucky live at Nidarosdomen Cathedral. She wrote Lucky at 9, believe it or not. And she has a HUGE catalogue of great songs, both live and videos. She's totally unique.

You have just discovered something you've never "ever" seen before.....and you've only just begun. I'm a 51 year old raised on Motown, Country, Classic Pop and Rock.....Disco, Funk. I like all that music but for years, I've been a 70's Hard/Classic Rock and 80's HEAVY METAL kind of guy..... I found Aurora about a year and a half ago, and I can say this confidently that I honestly listen to her 'every' day. She has caught me and kept me captivated ever since...... You're in for a most Wonderful Journey..... She is really unlike ANY thing I've ever seen or heard, and as you can see, I've heard and seen A LOT! Keep going down this rabbit hole, you will continue to be "continually" surprised and mesmerized..... My suggestion is to keep going with the Live Stuff.... Aurora is not only meant to be heard but meant to be heard "and" seen..... Of course, she has studio/official video versions of her songs, but the Live one's are beyond belief... I tell you now, "EVERY" song she has, when performed, is always different, sometimes majorly, sometimes slightly....from one another.... If you want to see something completely magical, you'll go to her Live in Nidarosdomen concert. Watch, "Through the Eyes of a Child" and "It Happened Quiet"... Many reactors just end up reacting to the whole concert b/c every song and moment is worth seeing...... I forgot to add, you're very observant of the nuances....I am as well.... Boy, you are in for a tremendous treat.......she is like this in every song......in some form or fashion.....

I've analyzed hundreds of times this video and can't help to notice that in stage is not Aurora anymore. If you see the moments that she gives us smiles is basically the "person that was murdered" trying to justify whithin the madness of the concept the reason why she was killed. She is trying to explain afterlife what happened to the thousands of people watching her on stage (and the millions in camera) why this was okay. The pain "he" felt on doing it and there was no intention to actually hurt her but just finally let her rest. She fully drives deep into the story beyond just acting. She feels every second of the story she is telling as the caracter portrayed in this song. That is why there is certain erratic movements. The denial in her head movements and the constant gestures is her character convincing others and herself that, no matter how cruel and contradictive it sounds... he made it right. She has nothing to forgive and she can now go in peace. However the song is not called "mercy", "savior" or anything similar because for Aurora it is still a conflicting topic. It is still murder however you wanna call it. This is the best ever performance made and the ability she has to story tell through her voice and actions (not only the lyrics) is unique. Hope this gives you a bit of insight of what I see and enjoy it even a bit more if it is possible XD Stay safe fam! Regards form Mexico

I honestly believe this is one of those performances that will be looked at ......such as Joplin at Monterey...Hendrix at Woodstock, Prince at Superbowl etc...... Maybe not the type of music you have personal Cds of, or even know the Artist but.......once you seen and heard it you have nothing but respect and appreciation for the Artist. Aurora is a complete Artist. Rare in today's music world. Doesn't use her body or looks( which she could), doesn't use shock value or a big stage production with dancers......refuses to use autotune or lip sing. Put most of the Artist...ahem.....who are on the billboard top 100 in a studio with every instrument they need and maybe 10 could write a song ....meanwhile Aurora can. Have most of today's Artist explain what thier song is about and how or why it was written....oh we bought the song from another Artist or such. When asked...who does Aurora sound like? What kind of music does she do? Compare her to a couple others?..... You really can't answer. Only answer is....she's just herself. Does her own thing.

From what I think I've read or heard, this song is about a married couple, the wife has a horrible, chronic health condition in which with each passing day/month/year her existence is drowned out by ever growing pain and the torment that pain brings. After the song "Runaway" from this same concert you can see the moment when she "wakes up" / "comes back" to reality being very shy and almost scared. She said in an interview after the 3 songs at this concert, that she was very scared and she was just glad she did not drink too much or she would have peed herself :-) She was discovered in 2014 in Norway, and she said years later that the first 2 years she did not enjoy performing at all. Hi. I greatly enjoyed your thoughtful reaction. Thank you. (This message is long, mainly an enthusiastic cheer of the preciousness in the discovery process of this rare artist and human.) AURORA is a true artist, a one of a kind, who does not fall neatly into genre labels. Her lyrics are important, often like poetry and quite often metaphorical. The meanings can be interpreted many ways, and each way, upon any listen, is a correct interpretation. Many of her fans relish her live performances (including me). However, I recommend next viewing a few of her official music videos, as they more expansively convey aspects of artistic intent, and, when seriously watched, her artistic core, and creativity in use of metaphor and performance are readily apparent. Her MVs also reveal dimensions of her seriousness of communicating themes she is presenting, and the mind and heart she fully inhabits as she communicates and express - vs entertains. Her gorgeous and unique vocals and musicality are a given (she is a producer of her music, and has written for other artists).. After an initial sampling of some staple MVs, one readily comes to understands the straightforward candor, sincerity and total immersion on stage - she is not affected, putting on airs, seeking fame and adoration. For most, this is like a once in a decade artist discovery. The slow burn investment is a journey of ever mounting richness. .You will most likely get blown away, be deeply touched and affected by many of her outstanding live performances, even on repeat watches. AURORA has a new record coming out this year, so your timing is terrific. Some of AURORA-101 foundational music videos I recommend to you are Run Away, Through the Eyes of a Child (a cappella), Winter Bird, and The River. She is a genre into herself, with amazingly lovely and devoted fans of all ages and all kinds of people around the world. (I know this is too long, and I’m likely writing to the air.). She’s just such a special person, whose art is a gift, and the unwrapping is one-time special delight. Thanks.🦋❤️🫖🎹🥁🍎🌊🏔🦶🏻🧚🏼🤘🏻👘🐺🕸🐕🌔🎧🎤🎨🌲🪐🌈

I’ve followed Aurora now for 5 years and have had the pleasure of seeing her live twice and there is no doubt in my mind that she is the best live performer I’ve ever seen, forget all your mainstream artists Aurora takes the art of music to another level she is that special and trust me at my age of 65 I have seen numerous artists live in concert over many years but no one has touched my emotions like her.her songwriting ability is outstanding I’ve never heard a bad song from her she takes you on a journey always singing to your soul and making you think deeply about life and the world we live in but the wonderful thing about her is the humility she shows to her fans who she simply loves for she knows how much they mean to her she’s a wonderful role model a beautiful humble human soul.I don’t say this about many but for me Aurora is a Genius and we are so blessed to have her and her music.❤️💚💙🧡💛

Great reaction! She is one of a kind! Aurora said in a tv interview that the creativ process in making songs and having the control in the studio, to do what ever you want is liberating, but ones you perform the song live on stage it's out of your hands. You as an artist isn't important anymore. it's all about the song and she is just a tool, a vessel to the song. It comes to her from somewhere and goes through her out to us all. That's why she is so in the moment. Be safe Björn

Try ‘It happened Quiet” Live at the Current. Just Aurora and one female guitarist singing back up. You will see and hear something very special indeed.

Her movements on stage always seem like the music evokes such emotions in her that she has to move. That´s why it looks like it´s natural instead of choreographed, because it is. It reminds me of watching Joe Cocker sing "With a little help from my friends". He just has to move.

If I may say it, I'm quite surprised not to find two other amazing, very young artists in a channel such as yours: the Kazakh singer, poly-instrumentalist, and composer Dimash Kudaibergen, by many considered to be the best singer in the world currently living and ever lived (yep!), and Russian singer Diana Ankudinova. If you want to be stunned speechless by them, you can try listening to a recent performance by Dimash, "Stranger" (a song only he can sing, written by famous Russian composer Igor Krutoy) and a jaw-dropping performance by Diana (she was 14 or so at the time), "Rechenka". Here I am from the Aurora and Pomme vid. Actually gave this one a listen on her page first. Her Sound reminds me of Sia, Dido, Lily Allen... its warm and expressive. @@Meine.Postma would you say that about Pavarotti, after his years of vocal training? Dimash has had 23 years of vocal and music training. Of course he's good technically, anyone would be after that, but he also lives in his singing 100%, physically and emotionally. You can hear it and you can see it if you watch certain performances where he becomes overwhelmed with emotion and has trouble holding it together. He sings until he is exhausted. He sings because it is expected of him. He worries about it all the time. Dimash is just a boy-man trying to do his best for his family, his teachers, his country and his fans. He has a lot on his shoulders, a lot to live up to and a lot of people to please. Don't mistake technical skills with a lack of feeling. They exist hand in hand in him. He is a creative who also sings other people's songs. Aurora is a creative who (mostly) sings just her own songs. She has had no vocal training, hers is a gift that she uses in it's raw state. She loves being alone. He loves to be with people. She has professed not to like being on stage. He has always had a dream of being on stage. She has only herself to please and does that perfectly. He has to please the whole world and does that as well as he can. They are different, but they are still similar in the creative sense, and they both want to save the world. Here is an interesting interview that gives a bit more insight into the human side of the man kzread.info/dash/bejne/dJamlMiFe9LWoKg.html Everything is subjective of course, and you feel what you feel when you feel it. Chris ... I've skimmed through the comments to date and no-one seems to have mentioned the importance of this song in the context of the Nobel Peace Prize, which is awarded annually to people or organizations that have made a substantial contribution towards world peace and the elimination of military conflict. The money prize is funded from the legacy of Alfred Nobel (1833-96) a Swedish chemist who invented dynamite and made his considerable fortune from this as well as armaments and ammunition. The entire audience at the Peace Prize concert would be aware of that and the organising committee would have approved, perhaps even suggested, Aurora's choice of song. R (Australia) Additional: Angelina Jordan also sang at this event the previous year, in 2014.

Aurora was so nervous about this performance that she took a pine cone with her to the press conference to help her to stay grounded (there is a clip of this on KZread). This is part of her awesome, quirky personality, which you will see from clips of performances, interviews and her recorded live streams if you choose to go on "The Aurora Journey".
