    U R da man! My ball joint was connected but I remembered what you said about vacuum lines. I checked them all and found the left bank line was broken. When the ball joint becomes a problem I will definitely use your MacGiver solution. Repaired and no more problem! Thanks, you're a good man

    Thanks! The original color was dark blue which looked just like black though. I had the car repainted after being involved in an unfortunate road accident 4 years ago. The driver's side wing mirror was gone and the front fender and driver's door damaged. The windshield also cracked. Luckily I was able to fix all that and give the car another look which I don't regret one bit. 😁

    No you should not glue it. The white ball is supposed to be rolling freely inside the black arm. This is how I permanently fixed it. I removed it, I drilled a hole in there and I connected them with a tough piece of metal wire: kzread.info/dash/bejne/qqWXr5aLaZrImqw.html

    My arm does fall off the ball joint as you had mentioned it might. My arm does not move when I accelerate when it is on the ball. Yours does move freely. Is this due to vacuum or a stuck flap? Thanks.

  • @ThatAfricanGuy

    @ThatAfricanGuy

    3 жыл бұрын

    It does not move when you accelerate a bit. It does under hard load. If your arm still does not move under hard load (high RPM) then you may also be having a vacuum leak somewhere.

    Do u know what actually moves the flap actuator when revving up, My understanding is quite the opposite happening as the the actuator will be exposed for the biggest vacuum at idle? as it seems the actuator is connected directly to the intake plenum. Very cool video , Thank u very much.

  • @ThatAfricanGuy

    @ThatAfricanGuy

    2 жыл бұрын

    It is operated by the vacuum generated inside the intake manifold. The round head has a small air ball inside which when sucked operates the arm.

  • @W.Khairi

    @W.Khairi

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@ThatAfricanGuy Yes I agree with that part but the vacuum pull will be higher at idle, Right? But the arm moves only at higher rpm, That is what confuses me. Thanks for ur reply anyway.

  • @ThatAfricanGuy

    @ThatAfricanGuy

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@W.Khairi No, the vacuum pull would be stronger at higher RPMs. The vacuum pump is attached to a camshaft on the driver's side. The higher the RPM, the faster the camshaft spins and the stronger the vacuum force gets.

    That African Audi DIYer it is Intermittent . And idk if this is related to this but like every other day the car will start to accelerate poorly and feels like it’s choking or something, it resets and acts normal when I come to full stop . I thought it was the throttle body so I cleaned it while it still being attached i think I might’ve just had to take it off and clean it entirely cause I cleaned it like that and it was fine for a couple days . No CEL with that acceleration issue too . The CEL just came on a day ago for P2006 .
