8yrs later and still a very helpful video
Thanks for being so straight forward and uncomplicated.
This worked great for my 2004 Audi A4 convertible with red airbag light continuously on when driving. I did this procedure with a similar code reader on September 4, 2017. I needed to remove the seat (4 M10 bolts) to gain access to the yellow airbag connector. I also had a 3-wire into 2-wire situation, my brown "extra" wire was not being used so I just connected the wires as they were in the yellow connector. My only issue was I was not able to gain any slack from the 3 wires in the floor panel so had to be extra creative to solder the wires together. I wrapped them up good; and erased the codes and the air bag light never returned. Thank you so much for the help!
Fantastic video it worked for me on 2006 Audi A4.
Thank you, going to try this on my b7 tomorrow. Once I fittied some sline seats I noticed the cable was kinda broken and voila airbag light turned on. Giving this a go hopefully tomorrow.
Epic. My B6 Cabriolet has exactly this problem. Time to break out the tape👍🏻😂
2:37 The wires that are coming out of my floor are so short after i cut them that I can't strip them... is there a way to get more wire out of there? I can't see to pull any more up.
Can you tell me What colours go to what after cutting plugs off and reconnecting. As they're different colours eachside of the connection ? Many thanks
I have a 2002 VW Passat Wagon V6 auto with the 4Motion, and my airbag light is on with the same issue with the passenger ignitor. Will this work for my wagon?
Aww thank you mate any idea where that connection block is on a audi a4 b8
Thank you now im going to make my husband work lol!!!!
Hi! Great video. Couldn't get the website to work (goes to an ad website). I have an Audi 100 C4, V6, Petrol, from 1994. Works very well and only has 130000 km on it. The airbag light came on and the readout from the audi dealer says driver side airbag (car is an LHD). Is there something I can do? Shall I replace the steering wheel or the airbag unit in the wheel maybe? Please let me know, Thanks
i have a 2009 skoda octavia 1.9 tdi its driver curtain airbag is deployed due to a minor accident can i remove the fault codes because they are hardly available in the area i live
I have everything apart, my seat and all of the connectors are unplugged. I cannot get the yellow connector housing out. Any hints appreciated. Thought this would be simple and would be if I could get the housing out
Excellent video, very straight forward - Thanks!
Do you need one of your code reader contraptions or can you just disconnect as shown and the light will go off? I have failed on so many warrant of fitness checks and I don't really want to have to pay someone to do this for me.
thank you !
I have seen on many cars that the passenger seat occupancy sensor can go bad that causing an airbag or SRS light to stay on. If you look online, like eBay for example, some sell a simple bypass plug so you don't have to cut up your harness. I think it is a simple resister to give the same signal as if someone is sitting there. Your airbag will still function properly

my skoda superb 1.9tdi 2004 has got airbag light on i have fitted a new side inpact sensor but the light is still on how do i fix this
Hello. Where did u connect whit wire to?Pls help.
Excellent video thank you
Where can you buy that vagcom.
please how can i put off airbag light for mitubishi outlander 2006
Audi does not recommend using solder to join those connections. VAG still sells the wiring kit but you can do it with any heat shrink butt connector and the correct gauge wire.
is this work on vw touareg?
I Ave 2016 audi a4 American how can I remove the airbag light from it

What a genius to skip the 3 wire to 2 wire connection portion....geez
Hi there. Thanks for the great video. Don't know if you can help me or not but I have this code on my car. I am confused though. You cut out the connector that comes up from the floor and the plug on the end of the wire from the seat. A lot of other forums I have found with this fault show people cutting out the yellow connector that is actually under the seat?? Also the plug coming up from the floor on my B6 S4 has 3 wires going into the connector (Blue, White, Brown), yet on the joining connector from the seat it only has 2 wires black and blue. What do I do with the 3rd wire? Hoping you can assist. Thanks!

Hello did you have any luck sorting yours out?
Thanks for sharing, there doesn’t appear to be enough wire to cut the harness..
Great video. Solved my problem! I cut off the connector at the seatbelt and the floor and re-soldered them. Reset the codes and boom, problem solved. For those with 2 seat wires going into 3 floor wires solder like this: Black seat to blue floor, Blue seat to white floor, leave brown cut and hanging.

Is this a free fix at the Audi dealer? I would assume since it involves airbags it would be a free repair. Regardless of the status of your warranty
did anyone fint out what to do when you have 3 wires coming up (White, blue, Brown) and just 2 wires (Black and blue) on the other side of the connector? dont know wich to connect to wich, or what to do with the third wire.

Mines got g179 code airbag crash sensor
under driver or passenger seat?
I have the same 1218 code on my 2000 passat. Can i do the same thing you did?
Is that the driver side or passenger side?
@geriatricginger

his (this video) was passenger side; P01218. But this car is RHD, so that would be the left seat. My Audi TT has code 01217 (Drivers Side), but my car is LHD, so it is the left-most seat. However, this 'fix' did not correct my AIRBAG Light. I can clear it, but it will return after a few hours.
my airbag never fly but my light stay on all the time
brown and black from the seat, brown, black and white from floor ??

Just use bullet connectors, buy some for the wire size and crimp them on using the crimping tool.
Why not just buy the new sensor?
God help you I this car was in a crash you would have law suit after law suit

Why, didn't he just remove (at that video) only that connector and put the cables back together so everything works again?
no hagas perder el tiempo a la gente haciendo payasadas como en el minuto 2:50...
If the trouble code is for passenger side, the connector is under passenger seat and if it's driver side code, then it's under the driver seat? Or only one connector for both sides? Thanks in advance
Hi mate, ive watched ur video an I'm still stuck can u help. I need to see where u connected the 3wires to from car onto seat with seat only having 2wires? Please help.
