This worked great for my 2004 Audi A4 convertible with red airbag light continuously on when driving. I did this procedure with a similar code reader on September 4, 2017. I needed to remove the seat (4 M10 bolts) to gain access to the yellow airbag connector. I also had a 3-wire into 2-wire situation, my brown "extra" wire was not being used so I just connected the wires as they were in the yellow connector. My only issue was I was not able to gain any slack from the 3 wires in the floor panel so had to be extra creative to solder the wires together. I wrapped them up good; and erased the codes and the air bag light never returned. Thank you so much for the help!

Hi! Great video. Couldn't get the website to work (goes to an ad website). I have an Audi 100 C4, V6, Petrol, from 1994. Works very well and only has 130000 km on it. The airbag light came on and the readout from the audi dealer says driver side airbag (car is an LHD). Is there something I can do? Shall I replace the steering wheel or the airbag unit in the wheel maybe? Please let me know, Thanks

Do you need one of your code reader contraptions or can you just disconnect as shown and the light will go off? I have failed on so many warrant of fitness checks and I don't really want to have to pay someone to do this for me.

I have seen on many cars that the passenger seat occupancy sensor can go bad that causing an airbag or SRS light to stay on. If you look online, like eBay for example, some sell a simple bypass plug so you don't have to cut up your harness. I think it is a simple resister to give the same signal as if someone is sitting there. Your airbag will still function properly

Audi does not recommend using solder to join those connections. VAG still sells the wiring kit but you can do it with any heat shrink butt connector and the correct gauge wire.

Hi there. Thanks for the great video. Don't know if you can help me or not but I have this code on my car. I am confused though. You cut out the connector that comes up from the floor and the plug on the end of the wire from the seat. A lot of other forums I have found with this fault show people cutting out the yellow connector that is actually under the seat?? Also the plug coming up from the floor on my B6 S4 has 3 wires going into the connector (Blue, White, Brown), yet on the joining connector from the seat it only has 2 wires black and blue. What do I do with the 3rd wire? Hoping you can assist. Thanks!

Great video. Solved my problem! I cut off the connector at the seatbelt and the floor and re-soldered them. Reset the codes and boom, problem solved. For those with 2 seat wires going into 3 floor wires solder like this: Black seat to blue floor, Blue seat to white floor, leave brown cut and hanging.

his (this video) was passenger side; P01218. But this car is RHD, so that would be the left seat. My Audi TT has code 01217 (Drivers Side), but my car is LHD, so it is the left-most seat. However, this 'fix' did not correct my AIRBAG Light. I can clear it, but it will return after a few hours.
