Atomstack A5 20W Laser Engraver Machine Review And in-Depth Performance Test

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Here is an in-depth review and the performance test of the Atomstack A5 20W laser engraving machine. I will test performance of this laser engraver by engraving wood, wood laser cutting, cutting acrylic (plexi glass), hardwood and engraving anodized aluminium.
Check the Atomstack A5 Pro 40W review here: • ATOMSTACK A5 PRO vs. S...
I already reviewed this machine, but I wanted to do some standard engraving and cutting tests which I will use to compare the different laser engravers.
Machine supports LaserGRBL or Lightburn software.

Hi, Could you tell me which glasses to use as protection with this laser? I saw that you connected a fan to extract the smoke from the fire, the question is? Did you also connect an air assist? I want to use it to cut 3mm cardboard and plywood.

You will find link to the glasses I use in the video description. I don't have air assist. The fan is to extract the smoke outside. Air assist would help cutting a lot. The machine can cut 3mm plywood and cardboard, but if you don't have a machine yet, maybe check my other reviews of the more capable lasers for cutting.

@@JTMakesIt Thank you very much for your kind and quick reply, I hope it helps other people with my question as well. This laser machine will come to me today, and I am on my first laser experience however I will look at your links for other laser cutting machines and take them into consideration, even though I had planned to start with this one (A5 M20 Laser Engraver atomstak) and then change the laser module with a more powerful one for cutting, if you think this is a good idea, otherwise I accept advice. Meanwhile, the first thing I'm doing right now is to pay attention to safety, even if the laser already has eye protection, I want to work in total safety to avoid damage. -The glasses link you pasted below the video does not work, it just opens Aliexpres. I found these Professional OD 6+ 190nm-490nm Wavelength Violet / Blue Laser Safety Glasses for 405nm, 445nm, 450nm, 473nm Laser (Black) on Amazon and hope they will work well with a more powerful laser as well. In order not to breathe fumes that are generated in the cut your wooden box is fantastic, I think I will build one too by inserting a fan I think an exhaust fan that is normally used in the beams without windows will be fine to connect it to the pipe that connects the 'external. Maybe some filters would be fine too. Let me know and have a nice day. Thanks for the video tips.

It cuts black acrylic as you can see in the video or on the website, but for cutting I would recommend the A5 Pro version or the Sculpfun S6 Pro(check my channel for review of the Sculpfun). These two are more suited for cutting and will cut much faster. A5 20W machine is more suited for engraving although it cam cut some thinner stuff. These machnes work best on black acrylic or other very dark colors. Colored acrylic gives them more problems i tried blue acrylic and it does not work. Have not tested other colors yet.
