Welcome back to Aurora Tech Channel. Today, I will review this AtomStack A5 Pro Plus laser engraver. It’s pretty much like a standard desktop engraver: the working area is 410x400mm, and it comes with a 5W laser module with a compressed spot that uses multiple lenses to compress the laser dot, which is supposed to be slightly better than a standard 5W module as it claimed to easily cut 10mm wood. Generally, a 5W laser module is not that good for cutting, but we will test it out and see if it can do that. If you need a larger working area, it also has an optional extension kit that extends the Y-axis to 850mm. The price of this machine is $360 without the extension kit. I would like to thank AtomStack for sending me this machine to review.

Fantastic video, thanks! I noticed the Lightburn settings in the version you filmed have mm/minute, but the newest version of the software has mm/second. Once I figured that out, this saved me a lot of time in testing settings.

Great review as always. Full of information, very well researched. 10mm cutting depth, very tempting. Just never leave those lasers alone, they can easily start a fire. And yes, wear those glasses. Even the reflection of the beam can harm. Keep it up.

I'm not familiar with the cad software to do that, already tried agghh lol. Thanks for all you and Helios do.

Could you please help me!!! I love your videos you explain slowly. I have a ikier 24w laser auto focus all set up. I need really child like exsplain me how to set my part zero. Absolute or current position? When I ran a mill I’d use my edge finder side of vice or part g54 x0 y0 or Whatever. I haven’t messed with CNC for 11 years so I’m confused about light burn first off I could right some code and I’d have this thing running days ago. So please step by step simply how to setup my part using light burn and auto focus. Thank you in advance once I understand that I’ve got it.

If you want to do cuttings on thicker wood(up to 8-10mm), get a 10W laser, if mainly for engraving or cutting thinner wood(2-3mm), a 5W should be good enough.

I got the Pro it seems, not the Pro+. Still 5w laser. However, to even cut through the 2mm sample bit of plywood that came with it, I need to go 100mm/m at 100% ? Nothing like the results you got. Same with engraving - at 6000mm/m 100% you can barely see anything - it needs 1000mm/m. ?
