Atomstack A5 20W Best Budget Laser Engraver Review Test And DIY Box Build (Banggood Coupon)

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This video shows what Atomstack A5 Laser Engraver can do. It is the best budget hobby laser engraver. I review the product from Banggood, where you can buy it at the lowest price (link below), give you some ideas on DIY projects that can be done with this laser cutter machine. I also show you how I build a custom ventilation box for this laser for venting the smoke out through the window since laser cutting produces a lot of smoke and smell.
Check the technical test of this machine:
• Atomstack A5 20W Laser...
Laser has sturdy metal frame and a powerful diode laser. It is very easy to assemble and contains multi language instructions. If you know how to assemble Ikea furniture, you will have no problems assembling this laser. It may be cheap, but it is very well made!
Laser engraver is compatible with LaserGRBL and LightBurn software which support engraving of JPEG photos, text fonts, DXF, SVG vector files and many other formats which makes it very easy to use and requires no special knowledge.
For more information, discount coupons and detailed images of the test results, visit hobbylasercutters.com/atomsta...
This laser can cut paper, cardboard, plastic, thin wood, and engrave anodized or painted metal, wood, leather and much more.
Laser is available to purchase from Banggood.com where it is available at the lowest price and they ship it from EU warehouse also! This means there are no import taxes to pay and it gets delivered in less than a week! Great for Europe countries!

    @@JohnnySm0ke Hi, thanks for commenting. Sorry I only have coupon for 20W version. I was tempted to buy higher power one, but it was too expensive. The only downside is that the higher the power, the less precise the laser is for more delicate engravings. The dot is usually a bit larger and more rectangular(20W dot is also rectangular), and you don't have so much precision in power any more (in software you select percentage of power. Some soft wood is engraved with only 20 to 30% power with my laser). Maybe in a few years when they develop much stronger laser diodes I buy it as an upgrade. But for now I am very happy with this one. It does everything I need. Everything in this video was engraved/cut with 30 to 80% power.

    I recently paid for this laser at banggood. Shipping deadline came and went, no updates ever. Until I started emailing and leaving comments here and there. A week later, after I thought my money was gone, a reply. They sold me a laser they didn’t have, disappointment. Asked me to wait, common for Chinese sellers, I said no. Please refund. 2 days later, refunded and relieved. Amazon seller, 4 days later I had my laser, from China, amazed! Great box, I’ll need to make one, love your videos JT

    @@leatherheadgarage7821 for the box design see my short video where i showed some upgrades I made to the box. As for the software, i first tried lasergrbl which is free. But it is a bit "unrefined". Then I tried lightburn which costs approx 40usd for lifetime, but you have 1 month of fully featured free trial. This software is more intuitive to use. I suggest trying them both and you will see which one you like more. My trial is running out, I have been using lightburn for the last month. I need to try lasergrbl once more, but I think I will buy lightburn since it is a more refined software that saves you some hassle on the long run.

    I bought the Sculpfun S6 pro and I was wondering how long the laser will last if you cut at 100% power? I only want to cut 3mm soft basswoods and found that if I set the laser to 50% power, speed to 300mm/min and do 3 passes it will cut through no problems. They say on their website that laser degradation is only a few % after 1500 hours but that is probably when only engraving at 30% power :) I read somewhere else that the earlier model 20W engravers would burnout at 100% after only 10 to 20 hours..

  • @JTMakesIt

    @JTMakesIt

    I think the life span should be in 1000s of hours. I have used mine for about 50 hours now(cutting plywood at 100%) and I noticed no degradation of power. You only need to clean the lens with a cotton swab and alcohol when it gets dirty. If you want to really maximize lifespan at a cost of speed, you can still use it at 80 or 90% power for cutting. it would take more passes.

  • @JTMakesIt

    @JTMakesIt

    3 жыл бұрын

    You should try to do some testing first on the backside. Settings really depend on the material and its color. Maybe start with 600mm/min speed and power at 30% and see what happens. If it does not engrave good enough increase power by 10%, else decrease power. You can leave speed fixed. I mainly work on only 3 speeds - slow speed for heavy cutting (200mm/min) normal speed for engraving (600mm/min) high speed for fills and simple shapes (1200mm/min). You loose accuracy with speed.

    Stronger laser will benefit you with more cutting power for wood and similar materials. For engravings I think you don't need more power. And different lasers have different shape of the dot. 20W dot is rectangular(does not cut the at the same rate in both axes), pro version is advertised to have smaller dot and rectangular shape which means nicer engravings too. It depends on what you want to do with the machine

The box is very simple and you should be able to make it just by looking at the video. In the description you will also find the link to the fume extractor tube.

    @@TheBossHimself I never tested max thickness, but it depends on the wood type. But 12mm seems a bit stretched.(try focusing laser 12mm above surface and you will see that the dot is much bigger, which means less cutting power) I also have Sculpfun S6 pro which is similar category as Atomstack A5 Pro. It takes 6 passes to cut the soft 3mm poplar plywood at 600mm/min. If it would be hardwood it would take much more time at slower speed. But the problems that the edges would be very black and charred which is not desirable. Sculpfun can cut 3mm also in a single pass with slow speed but it charres up edges more. I have yet to try to install air assist.
