I am being 100% honest.. Today, I had this exact same question in my mind. What created God? I start mindlessly and randomly browsing my KZread feed and see this video shows up.. I truly believe this video was Gods way of giving me answers…Just like what was stated in the video.. if you seek God out he will show you the way.

The difference between this kid and most atheists who 'debate' Christianity is that he's actually -searching- for answers, instead of searching for a way to disprove the answer. He wants to know, genuinely, and that's why he's not just kicking and screaming against the words being said. He walked away from that debate a winner whether he got the answers he was expecting or not, because he was respectful and actually -listened-. Good on him.

  • @The6thMessenger

But see, trying to disprove answers is how science works. If you look for answers, to prove something, you will inevitably find something, no matter how stupid or improbable it must be. That is confirmation bias -- it's how flat-earthers stay flat-earthers.

@@The6thMessenger While I don't disagree that scientific theory required as much disproving as proving, and they're certainly discussing some science based ideas, I would actually argue that this conversation is largely more faith based than science based. But what I meant, and probably didn't phrase right was more that most theological/atheist debates I've seen are largely just arguments for superiority, rather than actually discussions for information. This one felt the contrary to that! Hope that clarifies!

I think you have a very harmful view of atheists. I’m an atheist and I watch videos on religion all the time looking for answers, I just think the points coming from the sides of the atheists make more sense to me personally. A small portion of us are “kicking and screaming” and make the others look bad. Just the same as a small portion of religious people are super judgmental and make you look bad. I feel like most rational people from both sides are just looking for answers, there’s just a small portion of them that make both sides look bad, and of course they’re the ones that are shown more often because they’re seeking attention.

Ok cool. The young guy was cool being respectful and honest about his Atheistic views. I'm glad brother Frank Turek addresses Atheism and beliefs of other religions and worldviews on Cross Examined ministry. I was an atheist and agnostic from 17-19 years old until I discovered evidence of God's Existence and Christianity myself. Creation requires a Creator we human beings would call God. Atheists seem to think that God cares if we know that He exists or not obviously don't understand why the last book of The Bible is called Revelation because He finally reveals Himself to the whole world. Jesus The Christ of Nazareth (Yeshua H'Mashiac The Messiah in Hebrew) is The Son of The Living God came to save us from the Eternal consequences of our sins. This has nothing and everything to do with the video but please listen if you want to otherwise leave it alone and ignore it. Hello my name is Justin and I'm a 23 year old Christian and Apologist but I'm also a college graduate. I'm not a closed minded Theist as I have nothing against Atheists or unbelievers as I speak to them often to understand their reasons for unbelief but we as Christians are convinced of God's Existence due to many real factors). I'm not trying to convert anyone or convince anyone to become Christians as that's The Holy Spirit's job to help people believe but only explain why I believe in Jesus Christ. There's actually evidence of God's Existence in Christianity. First of all there's proof that Jesus of Nazareth existed in history since the writings of Tacitus, Josephus Flavius, Pliny the younger and other historical documents prove that He was living two thousand years ago that even scholars both religious and Atheists agree with historically speaking but not that He's The Divine Son of God because obviously they don't. I'm going to give you historical and archeological evidence for God's Existence as The Scriptures have prophecies that predate the events recorded in them by several millennia including Matthew, Hosea and Zechariah which prophesy accurately of the people of Israel becoming a nation again after over 1900 years of being scattered around the nations since the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in 70 A.D. spoken of by Christ in Matthew 23:29-24:3 and returning to their homeland after The Holocaust with Jerusalem as their capital in 1948 exactly as Jesus The Christ said. The prophets including Daniel spoke of the time where several world empires would arise and fall including the Babylonian kingdom, Medes and Persians, Roman Empire, and Saladin and the Muslims which went in consecutive order for the past few millennia. The people of Israel becoming a nation after The Holocaust in 1948 (ironically the melting point of gold as God compares Israel to gold that's tested in fire in Zechariah 13:8 and Jeremiah 16:15) exactly how Jesus The Christ said would happen since God us everything to come in The Scriptures and not just because people were working towards as Atheists claim which are impossible for any regular man to predict. Just before anyone says Christianity is a white man's religion made to oppress blacks during slavery you obviously aren't aware that the first Christians were Jews in The Middle East and that Christianity just like any religion can be used by evil and corrupt people to oppress others but you forget that the first Abolitionists/Civil Rights activists were Christians who sought to abolish slavery, racism, segregation, injustice and prejudice throughout American history. Jesus The Christ loves you enough not to give you what we all deserve which is God's Wrath by His Own Blood. Charles Darwin didn't originally come up with The Theory of Evolution over 200 years ago as it is mentioned in the writings of Ancient Greeks who believed in Demons that gave knowledge to philosophers. Evolution makes no sense when nothing has evolved after thousands of years of human history and supposedly the first creature came from primordial sludge several millions of years ago funny how they won't believe that God an Eternal Almighty Spirit Being created us from the Earth) which came from a supermassive expansion of matter at high temperature that inexplicably created everything in the known universe that supposedly came from nothing billions of years ago. How did the organs evolve before there were bones, skin, substance and how did any creatures see before eyes evolved? I've studied evolution and abiogenesis in the past and read Darwin's " On The Origin of Species" and I'm not convinced of macro Evolutionary biology whereas I accept micro Evolution like speciation and adaptation but not macro Evolution because there's no evidence of it nor clear observable examples of it where living creatures evolve into other kinds of species plus the fact that fossils don't show evidence of evolution and genetic entropy rules out evolution. The question begs how did two genders evolve from a common ancestor with a perfectly hospitable and sustainable environment with breathable oxygen and resources to survive on inexplicably? Atheists have the burden of proof to explain how everything came to be and why our existence is possible without the Existence of God from an godless perspective just as Christians have to provide evidence of God's Existence and the validity of His Word. Evolution requires life to already exist in order to take any effect in living organisms so it doesn't account for the existence of Life and reality. Also evolution is impossible because it goes against The Law of entropy and the second Law of thermodynamics because evolution makes things better whereas nothing continues to get better but decays and turns to absolute destruction in the end. Mark Ridley an Evolutionist said "No evolutionist whether gradualist or punctuationist uses the fossil record as evidence in favor of The Theory of Darwinian Evolution as opposed to special Creation". God's Existence is made perfectly known and observable in the universe as demonstrated in His Handiwork in the intelligently designed manner that Creation was made, human consciences and consciousness historical and archaeological evidence of God's Word being valid history, fulfillment of Bible Prophecies God in His Holiness and Righteousness could give us what we deserve in Hell for our since but He's merciful to give us free will to choose to accept or reject His gift of salvation by grace through faith in His Son Jesus. I don't mean this is any condescending manner but if you'd like to discuss The Scriptures with me or have me listen to your view on anything my instagram account is Savage Christian Kombatant.

@@MsViva710 I generally believe it’s good for people to believe in something because it makes them better people and I also see religions more like traditions and not so much about God necessarily. What happened back in those days? Nobody knows for sure but there’s definitely something paranormal and we call it paranormal because we don’t have the understanding of physics yet but it’s more likely that it was non-human intelligence rather than the creator of the universe because even the word “creator” doesn’t make sense. Who created the creator? See? We don’t have the right questions to ask and that’s because we don’t have the physics yet or maybe we do in some black project. Remains to be seen. So back to what I was saying, it’s undecidable, at least in terms of public knowledge that is protected under the freedom of information act. In terms of secret knowledge, there’s probably a lot more that we are unaware of.. meaning the public.

I don't mean this is any condescending manner but if you'd like to discuss The Scriptures with me or have me listen to your view on anything my instagram account is Savage Christian Kombatant

Christianity is a culture, not a fact. Whatever you choose to follow should only be able to facilitate an evolution to your being. Giving you the tools to be able to unshackle you from any limitations spiritually and within in life. Religions generally tend to tie their followers to them too tightly through greed and control (Spanish inquisition, taliban in Afghanistan) rarely do they give the tools to help you guide your own spiritual development which in turn then evolves the religion itself. It was a Roman Emperor Constantine that developed Christianity to have the heaven and hell notion in order to have some allegiance and obedience towards his religion. Creating fear among his people not freedom. It originally had the belief of reincarnation. Says a lot about the idea of God giving free will, when it could be that you are a piece of god and free will is an immutable condition to your being as God has ultimate free will. Making you your own saviour. Buddhism has many great tools of self development and its said that Jesus was a reincarnation of the Buddha.

There isn’t a shred of evidence that supports the existence of any god, and CERTAINLY not the Canaanite war god Yahweh, that eventually morphed into the nonsensical god of Christians.

Humans only assume... we know nothing... so one could say god excist and doesnt excist at the same time if you follow our principles. But the way we view GOD is a holy deity personafied, the true father of jesus christ which most likely is another man made mythos. I dont believe in that kind of GOD, but as this guy answering the atheist said, that he thought of whats out there in space is what he thought is god that i can agree AND disagree with. There are forces we just dont understand and never will until we die, and even then we might not know it. There are only theories. You have on this earth as the guy stated "free will"... so you do with that what you want. My thesis is that we all are just like any other living organism on this earth, fragile and weak, but evolved to a point of what we concieve as HIGHLY intelligent. And just the fact that we may regard ourselves as highly intelligent prooves how uneducated and clueless we really are to the real forces of space/universe and its mysteries. What made it all is truly more complex than any lifeform will ever be.

The unavoidable fatal flaw of these religious apologetics or any failed argument in general is that they rely on at least one foundational assertion being true despite a lack of sufficient evidence or proof of that claim. How it’s a problem is that the unproven claim isn’t even at issue, and instead is just automatically accepted and is a springboard for what the conversation at hand is based on, which itself becomes fruit of the poisonous tree. As an example, when the speaker talked about the story discussing whether or not the mother who rejected the gospel is in hell or not. The answer that he discussed sounded nice, but he glossed over demonstrating that hell even existed. Absent of that, any discussion surrounding hell is irrelevant and invalid.

When I was young & going to church I asked my grandma “where did God come from?” She said “ when you get to heaven you can ask him”. I thought I’ll be so glad to be there I doubt I’ll care anymore. As a human being it’s hard for us to understand what isn’t explainable.

What a great exchange of ideas and questions, gives me hope for our culture. One response I didn't notice in the comments (sorry, can only read so many...) is the continual expansion, contractions, implosions and rebirth of a new universe after another big bang. But even with this I prefer the theological explanation being the initial creation at some point.

Can we just take a moment to give absolute unwavering applause for Carter. That young gentleman will grow in whatever he chooses to do in this life as his ability to understand the importance of debate & the nuisances of it debate is remarkable at his age. As a Christian I do pray he accepts God if he hasn't already!

@ImalTman I tend to seperate debate and discussion. To me debate is what you do in court, where you try by all means to win the argument even if you know your guy is guilty. It's also the same when you join a school debate team. They make you pick a side and you have to stick to it no matter what, even if you don't even agree with that side. The atheist guy, by my personal definition, was not debating but was discussing. Debate = I'm right, you're wrong. Discuss = I am opposed to your viewpoint but let us go on a truth discovering journey together. So discussion is about getting to the truth and debate is about proving I am right and you are wrong. Many people, in my opinion, cannot seperate debate from discussion. This happens especially in romantic relationships. But it can happen in friendships, and even philosophical and religious conversations like this one. I'm glad to see that we actually got to watch a discussion as opposed to a debate.
