At The Drive-In "Rolodex Propaganda" TFI Friday - Dec 2000
Музыка
This is the blistering performance of "Rolodex Propaganda" by At The Drive-In on TFI Friday transmitted on 8th December 2000. Cedric's announcement at the beginning of the song "Zia Dallas welcome to the real world. Happy Birthday today" was to commemorate the birth of my daughter that day. Note Donna Air's screw up at the end of the song where she gets the band's name and song title mixed up and watch Cedric's reaction to it behind her.

I remember watching this, the show was repeated late at night, I was drunk and just sat there open-mouthed kinda thinking 'Holy shitfuck, what the hell was that?!?!' Bought the album the next day, still one of my favourite albums to this day

No one even comes close to Rolodex Propaganda's sound and energy, best band to have ever graced the earth.
Cedric's face when she says it is absolutley priceless!
So this was what was happening on the day I started living.

Holy shit; Cedric gave his guitar to someone in the audience at the end! I would kill to have been that person!

Jim's guitar! A 1961 SG jr which was only recently stolen.
this was the greatest band in the world...
I know it'll sound like a cliche, but this performance changed my life. I'd never heard of ATDI but like many others went out and bought Relationship of Command the next day, then their entire back catalouge the day after that. Without a doubt my favourite band of all time.
Ohhh, Rolodex Propaganda, great band.

I like their song "At The Drive-In." I know it's the popular one but i like it
The band that melted everything into something
Cedric's reaction, lel
I love how the crowd couldn't hush up when she wanted them to, they just kept clapping. :P
I never realised that ATDI did this show. I only remembered them doing Jules Holland. Credit to Chris Evans, this show was always ahead when it came to introducing new acts on the verge of their breakthroughs, no matter the genre.
oh dear. This is just ridiculously good.
Cedric's face at the end = Priceless.
no mames , this band is amazing when come back !!!!!
Cedric playing a guitar! I like the changeup!
I know loads of people have said this before. I remember being 18 and seeing this performance and being absolutely blown away. So much energy and passion! Incredible!
I loved ATDI back in this time!!
i taped this on VHS at the time, i was bouncing off the walls. All these years on and it's lost none of its impact. I always wondered about the dedication at the start, good work mate!
One word! AWESOME!
3:45 LMAO cedric's fucking face man. What a good sport
I remember watching this live on the tv introduced the 16 year old me to post hardcore
Amazing performance .

Oh man ive been searching for this for ages! First time i ever heard of em was this performance. Great stuff, thanks for posting.
Coming up next - Queen by Bohemian Rhapsody!
Cedric took it pretty well. I remember Donna Air presenting on MTV and she never came across as the sharpest tool in the box.
cant believe they're reforming
Cedric playing the guitar looks so weird haha.
I kind of wish Cedric would put the guitar down and Jim the keyboards for just one performance of this song. Seeing as its energetic even for them I can only imagine the carnage asada that would be Cedric not being weighed down
First time seeing this performance. ME GUSTA
Fucking awesome. That is all.
Great band.
Yes I think he did
I wish these guys never broke up ,every one would have forgotten about nirvana
that young lad just earned a punk scout badge. why is her hand gigantic in the end?

It was just a standard prop on TFI Friday for the live performances. Giant hand holding giant version of their CD cover. I think the intended effect originally was to make it look like a normal sized cover being held at arm's length up to the camera
how the fuck have i never seen this until now
3:50 : Cedric totally LOLZ !!!! xD
3:30 Epic moment
It's nice to hear Omar's guitar playing not sounding like garbage for once.
@screwtape84 yup that defo sounds like the glasgow i know and love
I remember watching this on the day, and remember that donna air fuck up.
That guy in the blue shirt gets it
wow! i cant fucking wait till coachella
REUNION: CHECK!!!!!
@screwtape84 id of loved to see them, what venue they play
fucking stars!
It's great that this got played on tea time mainstream TV, half past six in the evening on channel 4 (that's a regular free to air channel in the UK). I have no idea if anything like that would happen today. I'd like to say it wouldn't but I'm completely out of touch with popular culture now so what do I know?

Not only was it on mainstream but they were on the same show as Kylie Minogue? Big name at this time in the states. Much bigger in other parts of the world. By the way, nobody in The US calls them "the states." It just is weird to me because it seems a lot of European countries, at least, call the US that.
Cedric is cute.
He wrote the guitar part for the song
Lmao, did she seriously shush the crowed??? And, on top of that she fucked up the band name? How in the fuck did she even get hired?!

Sweet video. Your kid is quite privileged.
Manuscript Replica!!!!!!
I really wonder why this song isn't in their sets on the current tour? Maybe Omar doesn't want to do these crazy Iggy Pop BVs, how odd. It's one of their most memorable songs

No Jim Ward…
Hahaha, lol look at Cedric behind that twit at 3:54
They still got the energy level in their reunion tour but this song isn't in their setlist :(. At least most tracks from Relationship of Command is in it.

This was mentioned in Kerrang magazine YEARS ago but this is the first time I've seen it. It made me cringe! I can't remember what she's called. Danielle something? I know she was in Byker Grove and is a total airhead.

I hated this show but apparently the music acts seemed to be next fucking level

who the fuck books bands for shows like this?!!? 'these kids have shifted a few units, book 'em now' 'you wanna hear the record first?' 'WHY THE FUCK WOULD I WANNA HERE THEM??? JUST BOOK 'EM!'
She doesn't deserve to hold that record. Just saying...
at the drive in by rolodex propaganda
This band sucks without Jim. He literally saved this song, and all of the live performances actually. Like a skeleton without a backbone now.
By roladex propaganda....thats hararious
