When you replace the SSD. How do you install windows on it? Are there Windows setup files built into the device by Asus? When doing a recovery option? Or do you have to download windows onto a flash drive through the website to install it by scratch?

Yes you download windows on a flash drive and install it in the computer from scratch. Or you can try cloning the drive.

So, can you switch the ssd for an wd black sn750? (nvme m2 2280)

You can switch the nvme with another nvme yes, I did it with the wd black sn770

You can just pull the 4gb out and then purchase a bigger one and then put that in place of it.

I've managed to replace the removable 4 GB RAM and added an 8 GB RAM (from my water damaged HP Laptop) in which surprisingly and fortunately, the RAM was compatible. Now, I have a 12 GB RAM on my ASUS Vivobook 15.

I'm pretty sure he's saying you can install a max module size of 16GB from the slot. So you'd have 4GB+16GB = 20GB total.

Update: I was able to add a 32GB module to my laptop, so now I have 36GB total.

I just recently bought that model and mine looks identical to the one in the video. I have upgraded the ram, and have decided to put a bigger ssd in it. At this point I probably should have just sprung for the more expensive one LOL oh well, still a good laptop.

is adding hdd posible? where is the sata connection?

The second "module" is soldered behind the motherboard. We can say that there is only one slot for memory replacement.

I just got my Vivobook 15 F515JA and a Silicone Power 16Gb DDR4 2666 p/n X002W1M347. When I opened the bottom to replace the RAM there was nothing in the removable RAM slot like there was in the video. I only mention it because now that I have the RAM Iin the slot. The screen will not turn on. Any help is appreciated.

make sure you plug the RAM in correctly, otherwise, the BIOS system wont turn on your computer. Ussually, the problem goes away when you plug it in correctly, and also when you disconnect the RAM

I’ve replaced RAM in other computers before. It seems pretty straightforward, slide the RAM in at about a 35-45 degree angle and push down until it clicks past the tabs. I even tried a tip I saw on here for motherboards that come with no RAM in the optional slot. That is, sliding the stick in and out a few times and the seating it down. The stick seems pretty well seated

There is space for it, so you can actually lut one in, it has a dedicated port too on the motherboard.
