The point she was trying to make was that all her (the moms) kids chip in to giving their mom money and she felt disrespected that Kalani is "making" Asuelu not cash in anymore. However, it's not always what it looks. I'm also an islander (not Samoan but Tongan) and our culture is similar in some ways. We usually give money to our elders to chip in for weddings, funerals, birthdays, church events, etc. The money doesn't usually stay within the family, it's usually given away. So I understand the concept of giving money to our elders but the show just makes them look like beggars.

Exactly. The Bible says a man will leave his mother when he gets a wife and the two become one. Mama is not included.

Sure not anyone I know!!! Samoan culture is beautiful! And I ONLY know amazing, fantastic, full hearted loving souls that give beauty to my world I live in. What we are watching is straight up ugly. Ugly and greedy AF! It makes my blood boil that shes using her culture as the excuse for her families demands. It paints the uneducated an ugly picture if they do not see through this wretched display of "family values/duties". Sad.....

It's clear you're the lunatic here Kalani managed the whole situation with such grace and dignity only to come back to this baby fool who's main concern is that his wife is saying if his sister initiates a physical fight she would not hold back in defending herself. The whole family is a bunch of crazy losers.
