Asuelu cant have emotions and definitely wouldnt of been shown any himself. Whenever he has those burst of tears they are as genuine as it gets. You learn how to turn off pain early as a Samoan, you have too because your life isnt yours, for a big majority of it in our culture. Him being cold to his wife, He isnt aware of it either, especially since its bred into him through childhood. When he is sad, nobody comforts him and he wouldve learned how to keep everyone out. So him not comforting his wife is because of all of this. He thinks He is doing whats right because those emotions his wife is showing has been taught doesnt matter, especially when it surfaces in himself. Tammy is acting as the enforcer of the moms behavior and customs but they both benefit from tearing him down as a man, so he can give them all his money and listen to their version of whats best for him and his family and to others. Its hardcore.
