A hot rodded Aston Martin? Whoa. Impressive. I built a TR-4 with a Chrysler engine, transmission and rear diff. Four wheel disc, all braided lines, Konis and Brembo.

Love the colour! Personally I wouldn't go for leather on the dashtop as it will be vulnerable to the effects of heat and sunlight through the front screen, which is of course the same reason manufacturers shied away and used vinyl. As far as the lower panels are concerned, matching the seats is the best approach to do but you might want to think about the areas where they are most vulnerable to shoe marks and scrapes and use black vinyl or carpet instead.

I did say I won't be using leather on the dash-top but vinyl instead. The colour is a Chrysler paint as used on the Crossfire and always receives compliments.

Hi Andrew, very informative. Can you advise where you got the Traffolyte panel made. Also where did you get the rear view mirror from, can you post a link please.

For Traffolyte I used John Walton Engraving www.traffolytelabels.co.uk/contact/ I have also experimented with lacquering with 2k lacquer over the top and the result is fantastic! just like piano black in modern cars (and pianos of course). The rear view mirror is from aliexpress www.aliexpress.com/item/32805690206.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.258.30381802XKXSG6 and is just £66 + vat.

Didn't mention the steering wheel and the silly red stripe. Surely on tarmac there's no problem finding where the wheels should be pointing? An irritating Mercedes affectation nicked from the US. Lovely colour and boot spoiler. One hell of a restomod. Well done.

Perhaps I should have mentioned although there is not time to mention everything - The leather wheel has been recovered in black (without any marker) and what you see is just protection to keep the new leather pristine while I work on the car. The red marker is there simply so I know when the wheels are pointing ahead and to help with moving the car around the workshop when needed.

I believe the cam cover breather pipe also connects to the crankcase.

@@larumpole Thanks you. Luckily the builder of the car (the previous owner who did the conversion) has been in touch and is on the case with me.

No, as when you extend it out it would then block off the heater controls.

Incidentally the Android player (www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002272180930.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.253.30381802XKXSG6) has a dedicated power booster: www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003988425726.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.143.30381802XKXSG6 to raise the power to 4 X 47w. The wheel controller is www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001953878409.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.243.30381802XKXSG6 Hope that helps someone.
