ASC OM-120 Malfunction - Brookfield, Wisconsin

Ойын-сауық

Sam and I were once again down in Milwaukee for June’s monthly test, and we went with Frank and Holly to a T-121 in Brookfield after Milwaukee for the Waukesha County test. Once the test was over, we could hear a dying siren off in the distance but did not pursue it immediately since it sounded like it was very far away. We set back for Minnesota a few minutes later, and as we were about to get on I-94 on Barker Rd, I was faintly able to hear the siren through my Acura’s thick sound insulation. I rolled down my window, and sure enough, it was the OM-120 right there. I quickly turned in to the lot next to the water tower and parked, and ran up to the siren to find Will and Tony already there. I started recording this video after I had ran back to my car to fetch my hearing protection, and ran back up just in time to see the city guy arrive. He was able to unlock the cabinet and turn the siren off. Was certainly a treat to be part of one of these runaway siren cases that seem to plague this part of Wisconsin quite often. Thanks for watching!

Hey! I know that OM-120! Why does it sound low pitched? Anyways, that’s strange on how it got stuck on.

Mechanical sirens can run for 15 minutes max so the chopper is likely giving out

@@bruh3120 The chopper is fine. The choppers aren't what wear out when the siren is run for too long, it's the motor that will overheat and eventually fail. In this case, it was just the batteries getting low after running for a while and the siren itself is fine.
