This movie is impecable. I don't get tired of watching it

This is one of my favorite movies of all time. No wonder Jack won the Oscar for this brilliant role.

Look elephant girl , god , I love this movie , one of my very favorites ; to many reasons why I love this movie but Nicholson would be the 1st reason why I love it….. love this movie.

@@ianboard544 He definitely should have received a Best Supporting Actor nomination and win! He was fantastic and a perfect foil for Nicholson's neurotic character (I would even add Cuba Gooding, Jr. for a BSA nod as well because he was just hilarious lol).

When he exaggerates the pronunciation of “molasses” I had tears in my eyes. He was explaining the resemblance of Cuba Gooding’s skin color. Like others are blind. 🤣

No other actor in the known world could have ever pulled off the charactor of Melvin Udall better than Jack! I still love this movie, cracks me up! Best one-liners ever written!

This is such a great film, the scrip, the dialogues, the acting... Jack Nicholson and Helen Hunt did an awesome job!

The collective gasps from the other waitresses when Carol suggests that Melvin sit a one of their stations😂.

The "shut up kids" and "elephant girl" had me dying.

Jack is my favorite actor

This is one of those movies I can watch on repeat. Superb performances by Jack, Helen and Greg. Is this as good as it gets???? Love love love this movie.

So brilliantly acted by both main stars. Great great movie ❤

Best Actor and Best Movie Star. That’s difficult to pull off. Not for Jack though.

I just noticed Taub and Cuddy having a lunch.

This is such a good movie. The performances by Helen Hunt, Cuba Gooding, Jr., and especially Jack Nicholson are amazing. Love it.

He was putting people down suffering with depression, while I was watching this movie on depression, that made me laugh a lot! That was a good movie 👍

people that talk in metaphors oughta shampoo my crotch....fucking gold!

Jack was brilliant in this film. He played an obnoxious character to the tee.

Shame they don’t make movies like this any longer.

Agreed! There's something so...organic about this film. It's like taking a peek into the lives of real people. I never skip watching this whenever it comes on even though I have it on DVD lol. Just a brilliant movie all around!

@@DarlingNikki2 Yes, that's what's missing from modern movies and TV shows. You can almost feel the writers trepidation in trying to carefully navigate the minefield of not offending anyone. That's why the dialogue sounds so fake and unnatural these days.

Jack, either writes his lines or the lines write him. Brilliant just Brilliant. Great job on putting it together.

Probably some of both. Watch is older movies and you can see him develop the basic persona he uses. I think "Missouri Breaks" was his breakout performance... for me, at least. Well worth seeing if you haven't.

I like to think Jack Torrance survived the Overlook, changed his name, moved and became a recluse.

6:34 This part reminds me of my father. He actually did this one time shouting across the restaurant for an order. When I first saw this scene I was in tears laughing. He even looked so similar to Jack which makes it even funnier. R.I.P. father.

I have similarly not shouted, but walked over to the waiter or maitre d' and asked for something the absent waiter forgot, say, butter, or a drink refill.

I was a kid when I saw this movie. My mind was all about cartoons and action. But this is the first movie to trigger something in my brain to appreciate good character writing.

Nicholson is a formidable actor. No clue if I could say 2 lines after his lines. He won Oscars for roles nobody dares to remake. I dont like him as a human, but as an actor....he is...unique. ❤😊

I feel the tension in every line of this exchange. It's like a verbal jousting match with no holds barred. The characters are so sharply defined, it's like watching a masterclass in dialogue.

Jack is the bomb!!!! I love him!!!

Don't know how many times I've seen this film and I never cease to laugh. The interpretation of Jack Nicholson was superb but nevertheless he was only one of many just a superb actors. :-)

My favorite lines 'I'm drowning here, and you're describing the water!' ( Nicholson to Kinnear) and 'come in and try not to spoil everything by being(pause) YOU!' ( Hunt to Nicholson)

This is a beautiful movie. Perfect from beginning to end.

thanks a lot for uploading these wonderful scenes, even though I had seen this movie like 10 years ago, I know most of what I saw by heart ... such a wonderful movie and such phenomenal acting performances.

Don't discount Greg Kinnear, he's amazing in it also. He has some great lines as well.

I always liked Kinnear, starting with "Talk Soup." He did do well in this film. I wonder what happened to his career. There's probably a video about him.

Actually the performance I admired the most was that of Greg Kinnear. He was so good with the utter speechlessness at Melvin’s hideous rant. And his speech about his father disowning him due to his sexual orientation was heart-rending. And I loved the flounce he gave at once point when turning away from the monster!

exactly - which is why i laughed when Helen told him "when you first came into the restaurant i thought you were handsome - but then of course you spoke."

You forgot "What makes it so hard is not that you had it bad, but that you're that pissed that so many others had it good."

I think the best line of the whole movie you missed: "You make me want to be a better man"

This movie was made just for Nicholson. He's brilliant in it.

Melvin Udall, the lovable bigot with a compulsive behavior,...that's as good as it gets. Love this movie and Jack did a hell-of-a-good job.

How could you leave out "Think white and get serious!" Floors me every time!

It's fun to speculate, though. Sam Kinison comes to mind! A younger Jack Lemmon (see "Save the TIger"). James Caan? Tom Cruise?

The point when Melvin totally understands Simon is when he asks Simon if his life would be easier if he weren't gay and Simon asks him back if he considers his life easy. Melvin resignedly says I'll give you that one.

+Alex Torres that always gets me when I watch this movie, and I watch it at least once or twice a year ROFL

The pub scene reminds me kinda of The Shining. "Rot in hell Melvin. Ooh, no need to stop being a lady. Quit worryin', you'll be back on hands and knees in no time."

Man, not even House treated Kutner and Cuddy like that!!
