There are many Chinese chefs in all over Asia that can cook like this or even better. But these are not authentic Chinese dishes. Some altered versions. Comparing US or the West to Asian restaurants actually in Asia is the issue. Nothing is real authentic in the West. Yeah sushi isn’t sushi in America and Chinese food isn’t Chinese food in America either.
Wow 😍
Delicious dishes 👍

Now what I’m about to say is a genuinely sincere compliment so with that said here it goes. I really like seeing the chefs station where they create works of culinary art and as my exs will attest to the fact that I eat more until it feels like my rear end is going to fall off, and my two favourite meals when I was in Singapore was garlic noodles with chicken and veggie noodles

I have seen this knife skill and the frying by wok in the drama Mei wei de xiang nian. This seems to be the strength and specialty of Taiwanese cuisine. And the Teppanyaki as well. Wud love to visit beautiful and lovely Taiwan and try these someday.

I have been to Taiwan and China several times and enjoyed the experience most in Taiwan. It was in a seafood buffet style in a shopping mall. This street food is probably better. Love how most food in Taiwan is fresh fish and veggies. South/central Italy is also incredible

Teppanyaki is NOT Taiwanese dish but Japanese. Don’t think you have eaten anything authentic by eating in ANY restaurants in the US. Too many former farmers and factory workers decide to call themselves “Chef”, while they don’t know much of how to cook. That’s why most Asian restaurant food taste like cr*p in the U.S. Sushi isn’t edible sushi some horrid version and Chinese dishes aren’t actual Chinese but again altered version that nothing resembles actual Chinese dishes.
Awesome cooking skills
As a former cook who had to use wok. Nothing but respect for this guy. That heat is like ur next to a blast furnace.

Cooking with a wok is not easy, but once you learn how to use a wok and maintain it, it becomes so addictive. Totally unlike any other cooking. I cook with one every Saturday, the food is delicious, the whole experience very therapeutic. It has become the highlight of my week.
@sumnaungoung8927
Жыл бұрын
A wok only becomes a true wok under immense heat. I’m sorry to tell you if you’re cooking with a wok on a conventional stove there wouldn’t be any presence of wok. You’d get a lot more wok presence in your food if you used a cast iron pan on a convention stove. Edit:js
@sumnaungoung8927
Жыл бұрын
Also unlike a cast iron, you really don’t need to “maintain” your wok what so ever. I mean if you’re using it right. Because just like you’ve watched here on this video there’s no cleaning your wok and say your wok somehow wasn’t maintained, all you’d need to do is throw it on an actual wok stove, blast the heat and throw some oil on it. So tbh I don’t think you actually cook with a wok and if you did, you’re obviously not doing it correctly. A cheap wok stove is around $500 btw. A wok stove like you see here if it’s a double would be around 3-4K. Or you can build a fire outside.

@@sumnaungoung8927 bruh u don't need to gatekeep this hard. It's not like wok will burst in your face if you don't have a $3k setup. It works just fine and the most important thing is the big volume for stir fry and the slope to toss food around which is really fun. It's already much better than any other cookware for stir fry. Only thing that's missing is wok hei.
