I know a lot of people hated this movie. But I got to say I actually enjoyed it. They did take a huge risk on going back to the original story and playing with it. But I kind of think of this Terminator film as an anthology movie. It doesn't need a sequel it doesn't need to be considered a sequel. It's just a movie about what could have happened if the timeline got altered. Like as if a T1000 went back in time and attacked John Connor in the time of the war. And Kyle Reese goes back in time to 1984 to find Sarah Connor where she has been waiting for him while she is being protected by the T800 who was sent back in time before John Connor was attacked in his time. Although the only thing I did not like about genisys this was the performance of the actor who played Kyle Reese. He played him so comfortably meaning like when Kyle Reese goes back in time to 1984 he looks as if he knows what he's doing as if he's been there before. Michael biehn was so much better because his Kyle Reese was more tempted, seemed less familiar with everything around him.

I watched the movie because of Cameron's speech about how good the movie is, the movie was a mess and a dissapointment, I really wish it worked better and it didn't help the reveal of John Connor in the trailer, that didn't help the movie to be get any better

@@nathanmcdonald610 Cameron nearly made Terminator 3 in the late 90's. He even called his friend William Wisher who helped him write T1 and T2, Arnold's comment makes me think Cameron gave them idea for this movie

Arnold was going to play as Kyle Reese in that case...... Arnold as Reese, Linda as Terminator and Michael as Sarah

the first is still the best. nothing can touch that for me

To me, there are 3. I feel T3 is incredibly underrated. They advanced the story without just doing a soulless retread of past films, Nick Stahl in my opinion was a phenomenal John Connor, and Arnie was great as always.

Personally I think and Believe this is the BEST Terminator movie of them all, I fully respect Terminator 2 and the Original but this Terminator KICKS SOME MAJOR ASS.

To me there is only Terminator and T2, this one was silly although I did enjoy Arnie fighting himself. Let's hope Cameron's next film is a belter, but with Arnie at 70yrs old it's never gonna be the same, unless they do an Andy Serkis type face capture to make him young again.

I still thought it was pretty good. Maybe not a 10 but pretty good. By the way, Arnold still likes this movie years later.

You're right. It didn't need Cameron's endorsement. It needed to be put into a burlap sack and drowned in a well. This movie was like shitty Terminator fan fiction.

James opinion makes a huge difference. I going to see it only because of James saying he liked it. Otherwise, I would wait until netflix to see it. They brought in the best film makers for 3 and 4 and those movies sucked and further solidifies James as a genius.

Poor Arnold. He's forced to lie about the movie because actors just can't come out and say yeah this movie sucks ass so don't bother seeing it. So the movie studios force them to promote it. You can take the shittiest movie out there and the actors who star in it will still say it's great

I saw this movie 2 weeks ago and I already forgot everything about it except for the Arnold VS Arnold fight that was awesome, but that scene on its own unfortunately doesn't justify the existence of the whole movie.

James Cameron said T3,4,5 are in an alternate time line

There are only 2 Terminator films... The first 2. All others were cheap knock offs that brought nothing but bad things to the franchise and were nothing more than a way to make money from a big brand name.

I don't know about anyone else... but some of it seemed disjointed. As a fan, that has seen all of the other films, I understand that the events that start this new film come from things that happened in the previous 4 films. They just don't really mention it, Other than Pops new mission. Because of that, I was just left questioning what happened to start the new timeline. And as fan of the older films... It kept taking me out of the movie to notice that Jai Courtney looks nothing like and acts nothing like Michael Biehn's version of Kyle Reese. I thought the movie was ok... but it wasn't Great. Arnold was amazing in it though... and the girl that played Sarah Connor was on, fucking, point.

I was disappointed the the beginning of the film didn't evem try to connect to the previous 3 films. Judjment day arrives in 1997. John meets Kyle in a completely different Way than he did in Salvation. The movie Is only Canon to T1

He was the DIRECTOR and WRITER for Terminator 1 and 2! That was why they were so great. However, he will be the producer for any upcoming Terminator movies coming up next. Due to "Rise of the Machines" being not too great, Salvation being boring, and Genisys being total garbage, it is officially declared that the Terminator franchise can never EVER survive without James Cameron. He is by far the BEST science fiction thriller director in the entire world!!! Nearly all the movies he has solely directed himself were masterpieces!!! Every time I see his name as the director, I will always know that the movie directed will be great!! He has literally changed the movie industry!!! You will always be a legend, James Cameron!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Arnold: "We obviously don't need James Cameron to sell the movie. But it was very sweet of James Cameron to say such nice things about how he, James Cameron, thought that it was such a good movie and how James Cameron wished he had made the same movie. And I rode motorcycles with James Cameron and James Cameron James Cameron James Cameron." Yeah. Glad you didn't need James Cameron to sell your sucky movie.

Main reason this flick failed..Needed R rating.

Genisys = the pg13 cartoon/superhero version of Terminator. hopefully Dark Fate will be the return of the dark/brutal/night/horror/realistic version of Terminator that feels like a genuine continuation of T1/T2 (i.e. the REAL T3)

Why are people disliking Terminator Genisys so much? It was a fitting homage to 1 and 2, and eighties action movies in general. I think it's a 7/10, though if the Reese character was less emo and stupid, it would be an 8, get a more interesting badguy it becomes a 9, a tighter edit and a bit fleshier story, and we have a 10. But it's in no way a bad movie. Arnold and Denearys have great chemistry and gives great performances. The Govinator have finally become a great actor, and I hope they get The Rock to play a bad terminator in the next one, they would be fun to watch fighting

Haugen Well for one the INSANELY spoiler'riffic trailers (did the studio really have NO FAITH whatsoever in this film?), because the story was truly an absolute mess, the fact that it erases what happens in T1 and T2...you know...the GOOD ONES, the blank chemistry between Jai and Emilia (not to mention they were both terrible in their roles), the idiotic choices that the characters make throughout the movie, etc etc etc.

Because it was a lazy, emotionless, plot hole filled disaster of epic proportions. Do yourself a favour and raise your standards a little bit because we all deserve more.

It's bad. There was way too much timey whimey crap going on. They were so busy being clever that they lost sight of the core of original, which was the story between Sarah and Kyle, and it caused Sarah to grow from a frightened waitress into a fighter.

This movie is TERRIBLE!!! And I don't mean it sucks, I mean it's a fuckin disaster! Nothing makes any goddam sense. And there is NO WAY in hell that James fuckin Cameron himself, this genius, thought that it was a good Terminator story, let alone a worthy one. He either got paid, which would be quite sad, or he did it as a personal favor to Arnold... If that's the case, he must really like him a lot. In his position, to give away his name and in a way his artistic interity for THIS... boy...

I hate watching Arnold say that Genisys is a 'straight 10.' That's bullshit man, more like a straight 4. Or even lower if compared to T1 or T2. It's one thing to believe in time traveling cyborgs, but there was way too much wrong with this film to rate it high. And humor nearly as bad as T3. Just another shitty blockbuster cashing in on the terminator franchise

James Cameron is a good dude. I would never have gone and seen this turd if he hadn't endorsed it. And he didn't make money off of it, he did it for his friend, Arnold. The least Arnie could do is express some appreciation.

This movie just couldn't stay serious, a lil bit of arnold self parody creeping in. Jai Courtney is boring af, the ending completely changes arnies character, i just want some of the horror to return

I think it's better then 3 and salvation but not as good as the first two.

I think T3 was better then this and I thought that film was bollocks and T4 was a spin-off!

As an alternative time line it's an ok movie but it's the shittiest movie out of them all. I'm glad Cameron is making terminator 3 for the next one. Leave it to him

It was shit!... the ONLY scenes that were good were the recreation scenes from the first film, which were shot by shot, lol Nobody cares about the stupid future war, same thing salvation did, it's completely boring and maxed out on CGI, like watching a video game. The reason the first two were so good is because they were both action packed chase movies in the real world, simple and thrilling, with amazing practical and some cgi effects. Hollywoods like a painter, who just does't know when to stop, as it gets worse and worse.

Salvation was better than this shit.
