Everyone thinks Arnold is just a muscle-head but he's so well-spoken!
Gosh, you mean talk shows used to have actual conversations and not constant one-liners and pre-arranged bits? How did mankind survive?
Arnie spoke better English in the seventies??
Damn, Arnold had majestic hair back in the day.
Arnold is such a smart guy. Always thinking, always seeking a position of integrity and credibility.
No wonder he became so successful. He makes a good impression. Not arrogant or cocky, but also not passive and shy. Add his exotic "austrian" touch and you have an upcoming superstar.
What's fascinating about this interview is you can see Arnold trying to cultivate a well-spoken manner, which he dropped later on - he wanted to come across as intelligent and articulate here, no doubt to push back against the meathead bodybuilder stereotype. My guess is when he became an action movie star, his priorities shifted, and he wanted to support that role by sounding "tougher" in his speech. I think a lot of people don't even realise this version of Arnold ever existed.
If you said this stuff today you'd get cancelled.
If Arnold thinks women were not in shape in 1979, what on earth is he saying about them today?
The Governator offered words of wisdom. So many women are afraid to touch weights because they thought they'd get too big. They don't understand that they don't have as much natural testosterone as men to get jacked diesel. Even some guys who take juice struggle to get huge.
I know people don't respect his acting abilities but I have to say this man knows the secret to being successful at anything he does. Multiple Mr. Olympia titles, best selling author, highest paid action hero and governor. He has had multiple successful carriers while many struggle to have one.
I'm a woman and I do one hour of cardio every day, then every 2-3 days I do weight lifting with pretty heavy weights for me. In six months I didn't lose weight, I gained 4kg instead but was looking better than ever. I was wondering why, but then I realized I gained that much muscle.
I liked how Arnold looked as a Conan with a long hair.
I love how he acknowledges women who want to build muscle. I personally don’t want to get huge, but I’m hypotonic (low muscle tone), so building muscle is a little harder for me. He’s a cool guy in my books.
watching this really magnified how much i truly hate the time period we live in now socially
dude i am amazed at how a good sport has Arnold been about people making fun about him not being a fluent speaker.....can't get more fluent than this.
"I felt that there is so many women out there out of shape" AND "Women ought to be in shape like men"
Am I the only one who thinks he had far less of an accent in 1979 than now?
70s. When you could smoke openly on national TV.
Imagine if Arnold said many women are out of shape in 2015. Tumblr would have a fucking fit!
