@@hedgehog1965uk It's partly discretion and partly just that we're all so used to random bodily fluids making a bid for freedom in these events that it's not really a thing anymore 🤣 Other parts of the internet would pick up on that stuff and comments would get toxic but I see none of that here. I don't know how much curating Loz/Liz do of the comments to keep it wholesome, but my impression is the community is generally like that anyway - I rarely lift anything heavier than my dinner, but this sport is just a nice place to hang around regardless! Now I wrote that, time for me to go lift -heavy things- dinner 😁

It was on the second rep, MVM (the official) can be seen shaking his head after she starts the 2nd rep but put his hand up for the up signal but seemed to change his mind, the issue is that he kept his hand up, which would seem to angelica as if it was a good attempt, but he wasn't going to give the down signal on that attempt no matter what since he thought she went quick off the start. its over officiating on MVMs part and if he thought that she went early he should have kept his hand down.

Depends on the lifter. For me it keeps the bar from rolling around or bouncing, so I can keep my form tight for reps. There's also a bit of a stretch reflex in the bottom. It's probably better for people who are weak off the floor, because people strong off the floor can yank the bar off the ground even with the bar in a slightly unoptimal position.

Angelica robbed. Clearly seven reps, over officiating by MVM. She clearly was locked out on the 2nd rep so i don't think that was the issue. He had issue with the start of the 2nd rep where she was quick to start the lift, but he gave the up signal as she started going but changed his mind, and he also kept his hand up, which would seem as though she was in the middle of a good attempt if she looked out and saw his hand up still.
