The thing is: Binkov excluded any possible outside intervention, such as turkish help for the azeri and Russo-Iranian help to Armenia. But, if Azerbaijan wants this war to end quickly, we can assume these figures to be correct (meaning that azeri would conquer some territories at a heavy cost, like tanks and some IFV)

Video presented scenario with no outside interference. Turkey helped Azerbaijan with military "advisers" on the ground and syrian mercenaries while Armenia got no help ..also Azerbaijan commited to the battle it's Best troops while on the armenian side it was the local NK soldiers who did most of fighting with only limited support from the regular army in Armenia proper..Binkov scenario proposed equal willingness to fight.. Also Bayraktar drones are not taken into consideration..because drones were bought After the video was made..

The scenario in the video assumes no allies, both Armenia and Azerbaijan received outside aid. It’s also impossible to predict a country’s actual willingness to fight, hence why morale is not a factor in these videos.

Binkov failed to see the military doctrine used by both countries. The Armenian army fought a war that they thought would be like the 80s while Azerbaijan is using modern warfare with drones. This makes it eerily similar to the invasion of France in ww2 where the french army had an outdated ww1 mentality. New technology and military doctrine changes things just like how we saw here.

Obviously you have no idea what you're talking about ... Azerbaijan destroyed one vehicle belonging to the S 300 complex. And a few radars, which we don't know if they are independent or part of the S 300 system. That is maybe 3-4 % of the total capacity of the Armenian S 300 system. Although the Armenian S 300 has a range of 90 km, from the 80's and early 90's and the system is quite obsolete

And Azerbaijan won. As of November 2020, Azerbaijan recaptured all of its territories that were invaded by Armenia during 1992-1994 Karabakh War. Additionally, Armenia accepted to grant a land corridor to Azerbaijan to access Nakhchivan without border checks etc. It means Azerbajian and Turkey will definitely seek closer relations in the future. Ambitious transportation projects can be built in Zengezur-Nakchivan-Igdir axis.

Even if the Iranian regime supported Armenia indirectly during the first war and chose neutrality during this war, any aggression toward Nachjivan would not be tolerated by their Azeri brothers in Iran .During the first war Iranian regime warned Armenia about occupying Nachjivan, Not because of love for Azerbaijan but due to a fear of uprising on Iranian side.

It was not common knowledge and the government news or even bbc radio didnt really mention it but now with social media and so on many people knew, some even tried to sign up to fight but they did not accept volunteers

Lmao This aged shit, Azerbaijan destoyed and Armenia Capitulated in 44 days.

Two major issues I see that made the reality differ so much from this video prediction. One, Blinkov underestimated how impactful the drones would be. This war will probably go down in history as the turning point in 21st century warfare. And two the political realities facing Armenia in regards to Nakchivan. Assaulting Nakchivan was simply never an option for Armenia. They didn't have the resources to hold Nagorno Karabakh and fight an extremely brutal war in a completely seperate region of their country. The reality on the ground is that Armenia faced an extremely difficult uphill battle to begin with. Azerbaijan's acquisition of advanced Turkish and Israeli drones sealed Armenia's fate. They never had a chance.

Problem for Armenia (in ODKB) is that Nagorno-Karabakh is not under their sovereign control, it is recognised as Azerbaijan teritory with autonomy. If Turkey, Georgia, Iran attack Armenia they will have problem with Russia (and others in ODKB) and they don't want that.

@@Milanche87 I agree, you cannot compare Armenia to USA. But when the difference is not TOO big like in Armenia and Azerbaijan, spirit is a big factor, one Armenia used in the early 1990s.

In Binkov's defence, his analysis did not include extensive use of drones. At the time this video has been created the BAYRAKTAR TB-2 was not available to Azerbaijan. As it turns out that drone is a game changer due to two factors: (i) it is cheap system and (ii) it utilizes very inexpensive guided free fall "missiles". With the last two non-turkish critical components (piston engine and targeting pod) just recently replaced with turkish ones, the Bayraktar TB-2 is the weapon of choice for Turkey and its closest allies.

Azerbaijan had moral advantage, a big part of their nation lost their homes in Karabağ, thus they had a good reason to fight for. Yes, Turkey helped Azerbaijan but Russia helped Armenia too. Interesting thing is all that Russian weapon systems were so useless against Turkish drones, Turkish defence industry is so new... Appereantly new technology is superior than an industry that has long history

The stuff armenia had might have been old SOVIET weapons just like many russian used weapons. After the war, I learned that Turkish radar systems (produced with Nato standarts) are superior to Russian ones. Maybe there is technical details like that. But yes Russian weapons should be still superior Maybe by producing Nato's modern planes, Turkish technology became stronger than we all thought, and now Turkey is making a stealth drone with jet engine, I really wonder weather they can catch up with China and Russia or not

Very poor analysis and prediction by Marshal Binkov the Great! We lived that history; the war did not last for years (it took only 44 days) and Azeri drones made fighting in mountainous regions much easier for Azerbaijan. Even if Armenians had attacked Nakhchivan, Azeri forces could have reached there on land by 30 to 60 extra days of fighting. So, Nakhchivan would have never fallen but, Zangezur in Armenia probably would have fallen. Marshal Binkov had better update his knowledge as the modern wars seem to be very different 😁 Another important point is that Azeris did not insist on pushing through mountains. They simply concentrated on attacking lowlands alongside the Aras River on the Iran border and managed to circle Armenians. Well, all these show that Marshal Binkov had not worked very hard. He had not even studied the terrain very well. Perhaps he had preferred to spend time in the nearest pub.

If you're watching this after the war started, Azerbaijan didn't have TB2 drones in 2018. TB2s have been effective at taking out vehicles, artillery, and groups of infantry judging from released videos. It would probably be much harder for the Azeris without that precision ground attack capability. Loads of TB2 video released by Azerbaijan can be found on the combat footage reddit.

Azerbidjan back then had 6 times the number of fighters and suffered 4 times higher casualties. What changed this time is they purchased largely superior weaponry, it can't really be attributed to the quality of fighters on either side.

Who's here for the September conflict?

*Azerbaijanis once made up 43 percent of the population of Yerevan. Over the course of the armed conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, it's not Azerbaijan but Armenia that has now turned into a monoethnic country and has pursued a policy of transforming into a monoculture society by wiping out the centuries-old cultural and historical heritage of its ethnic Azerbaijani population. Armenia has continued the same policy in the occupied Azerbaijani territories of Nagorno-Karabakh and surrounding regions, in a more violent and destructive nature. ARMENIA IS THE ONLY HOMOGENEOUS COUNTRY IN THE CAUCASUS, as it has expelled its minorities.* *The UN Security Council resolutions 822, 853, 874, 884, condemned this occupation and demanded immediate, complete and unconditional withdrawal of the armed forces of Armenia from all occupied territories of Azerbaijan. Armenia still disregards the demands of these resolutions.* *How can Azerbaijan have attacked Armenia, when Armenian territories have not been attacked? And then there are Armenians who claim that their so-called Artsakh is an independent country, yet not even Armenia recognizes it as such. Armenia does not have a border with Karabakh, it occupied the lands that they themselves acknowledge as Azerbaijani lands. Azerbaijan is merely responding to the attacks of unlawful separatists in a region that has been recognized as Azerbaijani by the UN.* *Armenia never demonstrated goodwill, neither did it act in compliance with the UN resolutions. The Minsk group has not achieved any result in 28 years. What's happening today is the result of Armenia's destructive policy. There's a discrepancy between the declarations and actions of Armenia. Armenia has always been aiming at war with military provocations against Azerbaijan in order to disrupt the negotiations. Tensions heated up again when Armenia attacked Tovuz, which is outside the conflict area in Western Azerbaijan, as it's close to energy pipelines that serve Turkey. Azerbaijan had to respond. When Armenia suffered a bitter defeat it started to plea for a ceasefire. This pattern continues to repeat with Armenia. Armenia has been attacking Azerbaijan from Armenia, not just from the occupied territories. Armenia is expanding the zone of hostilities, as a result there have been civilian victims in Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan is showing restraint by keeping its focus on its own occupied territories even though it has the right to retaliate. Armenia had 30 years to solve this matter in a peaceful way. Not only did they prove that they don't want to solve this issue by disregarding the agreements, they constantly provoked Azerbaijan. Armenia is the perpetrator, yet has the audacity to pretend being a victim. Azerbaijan has come to the conclusion that not reacting won't get them anywhere. Armenia is a vassal state of Russia and it's their support that let them get away with their provocations.* *Foreign actors have already been involved. Azerbaijan has enough manpower, it's Armenia that has been collecting help from many countries. Armenia deployed PKK terrorists in Karabakh. The PKK is a terrorist organization that has killed many innocents and is also known for recruiting children. The recruitment of child soldiers is a violation of international law. Greeks and Syrian Armenians have also come to Armenia to fight against Azerbaijan. Iran is also sending soldiers to Armenia. These soldiers who are members of the Revolutionary Guard, previously fought in Syria and are now sent to Armenia. Iran also facilitates the transfer of Russian arms to Armenia that Armenia gets for free.* *Turkey is merely providing moral support to Azerbaijan. There are no Turkish soldiers involved. Turkey is right in supporting its ethnic kin. Armenia gets the support of multiple countries, therefore Turkey will not let Azerbaijan get singled out. The West cannot be trusted to protect the interests of all sides because they are completely biased due to the influence of the diasporas, whether it's the Greek or Armenian diaspora. The Armenians who are accusing Turkey of helping Azerbaijan are only doing it to save face. They don't want to admit that Armenia doesn't stand a chance against Azerbaijan all by itself and therefore continue being Russia's puppet state. The majority of the Armenians live outside Armenia. Those pretentiously patriotic Turk haters are enjoying their lives in Western countries while Armenian boys are prohibited from leaving the country and are obligated to serve the military for 3 years due to shortage of manpower. There's even a kill order for deserters. Armenians expect other countries to give them what they cannot get themselves. Those diaspora Armenians are so consumed by hate that they're disregarding the distress of the Armenians in Armenia. They think that occupying foreign lands are more important than Armenian lives. The diaspora Armenians should be ashamed of themselves. Armenia needs peace and that can only be achieved by ending the occupation of Azerbaijani territories.*

Took 6 years to occupy, only 44 days to take back.

Nope. It's your ignorance actually. The conflict flared up many times over in the past. 2018 was not an exception. Armenia is provoking this war to force Azerbaijan to accept their fait accompli. The Armenian attack on Tovuz region (mind you an important corridor for gas pipelines and trade between Az & Georgia far away from Karabakh conflict zone) in July of this year however was the literal last drop in the cup & since then I think it was decided enough is enough.

Now we know the result for sure - a comprehensive Azerbaijani victory. In the end, the drones and Turkish military assistance got them over the line. The Russians will keep 2,000 peacekeepers to look after Stepanakert and surrounding areas, so Artsakh isn't completely gone - but if I were Armenian, I'd be nervous about staying there. Especially if the rumours of Turkish boots on the ground are true.

the area where russia will have peace troops was before the war in 1988 already a kind of autonomous region with mostly armenians. artshak is completely gone. Azerbaycan achieved her territorial integrety before the war started 30 years ago. stepenekent is totally surrounded, armenians will never be able to take it
