    I don't usually go for groups without the original members but Shalamar reloaded is the exception! They sound and look way better than the version of Shalamar that Jeffery Daniels and Howard Hewett put together. Jody is a timeless beauty and talent! Love her for many reasons!

    Lj Jones My *OPINION* is that Jody and the group she put together sounds better, performs better and look better. Your opinion ain't going to change mine and mine is not going to change yours. So move along, and turn that hostile energy on something that matters.

    I love Jody very much but girl you clearly couldn't get the greatness of Jeff Daniels and Howard Hewett, and I feel sorry for you for that. All three of them are amazing: Howard is the best vocalist out of the three. Even Maxwell admitted he studied Howard's singing very hard. Jody is a fashion and style icon, she is very artistic and her dancing is amazing. Jeff has choreographed Michael Jackson, he taught MJ the 'Moonwalk', he is no joke. Just learn to appreciate the real talents for God's sake.

    Listen young one! what your viewing is raw talent at it's finest! A moment in time of musical trend that started to change and mix the original song was new and completely unexpected! Jody look was just not a woman in a red suit, that we all see today but a black woman gender-bending theme that many other female artists took and never gave credit to its predecessor! The creative theme was very daring and shocking crew hair cut ! Jody's look was based on high fashion London European and street fashion that was also in its infancy and later became streetwear!

    I love Jody watley, and I think that many of you need to research the history of shalamar and the drama that happened in the group... There was a lot of dirt that happened in the group in the 70s 80s and two original members were disenfranchised (specifically Jody watley and another guy (Gerald (I forgot his last name)..... This is jodys way of getting her justice for being wronged from things that happened in the original group as well as how the name was used by other members over the years....

    Why is the other group still allowed to use the name? All the vitriol they and their fans bring will close down that other camp really quick if they don't stop with the shenanigans. Jody owns the trademark. She can shut them down anytime. She's a saint for not doing it sooner. Jody should let the courts do the talking if they refuse to be civil. Peace to you, Jody. Oh, and one more thing: that Wiki page on Shalamar needs to be changed. It basically labels them, not Reloaded, the official group. Wiki even directs people to their website. Jody has the patience of Job because there is no way I 'd allow them to continue on with the slander and maliciousness. It's truly a shame! Looking forward to that new album. If I were them, I'd chill.

    Jody always said Shalamar was a thing of her past, and that she is a solo star. She then creates Shalamar Reloaded!!! The group were not that good with two male singers who were bad.

    I respect Jody she can sing and dance but blasting her former members is laughable when in fact if it wasn't for the successful lineup of Howard Jeffery and her there would be no current shalamar reloaded she can talk about the bad business all she want but that happens

  • @ryanralley4514

    @ryanralley4514

    So how is speaking the truth on "Bad business" or the lacking thereof become bashing former band mates...if what is said be true? If Shalamar was as successful as 'you' believed to be why aren't people, music journals and jotters reporting or making docudramas on the threesomes as it's been on such legendary groups as the Beatles, the Supremes, Rolling Stones, the Jacksons, or to make current TLC, New Edition and even those who had lesser attention in the industry than the classic three such as Miki Howard if your claim of their success was this strong titlwave ride of success? If the name Shalamar was a heavy player in the industry (and you're insinuating it was the vehicle that catapulted Jody Watley's career into a household name), what happened to Jeffrey and Howard? Jeffrey... I get it...He was just a fill-in, but Mr. Hewett had the machinery of Solar records and Griffey himself. According to the Shalamar Unsung Griffey admitted to giving Hewett a million dollars advance of which the other two members never received, or was of knowledge of. SRL exist not on the strength of a group that no longer exist, or old fans rally over but has become successful overshadowing the memory of an antique image that has long faded off into the tar pits of land that time has forgotten on the back of JODY WATLEY. Yes, there's bad businesses in every genre of life but being the smart woman Jody is she refused not to become OWNED in slavery to a man and a company that no longer exist something Jeffrey and Howard can't do because they're contracted, not to just the memory of Griffey, but to his step daughter and her Mom, Carrie Lucas paying them each 30% out of their earnings just to perform as Shalamar.

    Ryan Ralley lmao Howard Hewett was a fill in?? More like Howard was the success we get it Jody watley wanted the success but she didn't get in shalamar she got it in her solo career that's why she is bitter talking about bad business that happen in every group not just shalamar but yea Howard Hewett is the reason lmao what about Gerald brown didn't he leave cause of bad business isn't it how Howard Hewett the voice came into a already dysfunctional group

Aww... how sad, you're disappointed because they're not singing the praises of two former cast-mates of Shalamar that never had hits, or a career of their own, and you hatin', why? Well, she ain't no Miss Ross!! I am sorry to say that I feel somewhat short-changed with that new "Shalamar Reloaded". I am just come back from the London concert she was talking about here and I am very disappointed. The pace and speed was way too slow, she almost spoke more than she sang. I was looking so much forward to her performance, given I saw her solo live in the Jazz Cafe some years back and she was great there. I am afraid Miss Watley, you need to do better next time!!

    +Thomas Farmer well, I was there to witness this performance and I totally disagree because the show was high energy pace and only slowed when the group performed the tireless ballad "For the lover in you" (the Babyface version. Jody was very engaging to the audience pulling them into the show, making them feel apart of the show and when Jody performed her hits the crowd was dancing and wanting more, so I honestly don't know what show you attended, but it wasn't Shalamar (Reloaded) London engagement, but thanks for your opinion!

    Ryan Ralley I am talking about the "Happy Sunday Festival". It was REALLy below par. She is neither JANET nor PAULA nor Miss ROSS, who is STILL THA BOSS, lol.

    @ryanralley2225

    +Thomas Farmer I think you meant the "Happy days festival." Are you sure you were there? Was below par? Compared to... former members that makes it's yearly repeat performance of 1982, is that your comparison? Jody's birth-certificate will validate that she's neither JANET, PAULA or MISS ROSS. and neither of the women you mentioned are JODY. One fact remains undisputed when Jody made her departure from Shalamar she and just a hand full of elite female singers dominated an era of music that changed the game, created history that not even the BOSS garnered membership to joining....In fact, RCA records paid Miss Ross to leave because she'd garnered just two hits for the company, forcing her to return back to Motown records. When Shalamar (Reloaded) took center stage not one audience member left the fairground, in fact the crowd increased during the trio's opening. Don't take my word of Shalamar/Jody's performance listen to the testimonials of others who attended facebook.com/ShalamarOfficial/videos/vb.306584156027306/1005720629446985/?type=2&theater

    LOL. They are all drunk! British audiences are easy to please: give 'em some booze and they are happy. You could sing out of tune, lol. I am afraid I stand by my words and my opinion that Miss Watley was a disappointment for me (btw she was not the only one to disappoint, but she disappointed me the most for she still is at an age where she could and should do better). So glad that LISA STANSFIELD closed the show with a formidable set of what I consider TRUE WORLD CLASS.

  • @ryanralley2225

    @ryanralley2225

    8 жыл бұрын

    +Thomas Farmer the British audiences are easy to please because of their drinking pleasures? Maybe that is the reason why former Shalamar members were a constant invite to the United Kingdom, because as you plainly conveyed with pound of insults about our royal cousins, and I quote "giv'em some booze and they're happy. You could sing out of tune, lol." end of quote. Thank you for your philanthropy, charity of words because you, as well, have just answered the mystery question of why they had such a softness in their heart for an elderly dancer, nameless backup singer and an aging lead singer that no longer can hold a note, or complete song without begging the assistance from paying audience members to abet his lack of vocal capabilities. I knew something positive would develop from our conversating. You're free to stand on your conviction regardless of how Determined you are to remain out on a limb in amiss, it's your freedom of freewill, but it changes nothing. Jody Watley remain the Trademark owner, Shalamar (reloaded) is doing what any formation of the trio's history have failed in the past to do and that's becoming a successful/professional entity. One thing that disturbs my inner peace of your unfavorable, corrupt review of Jody/Shalamar performance is, what of their other shows have you compare their London engagement to of lately? Shalamar in Brazil? Shalamar in Japan? Shalamar in the Neitherlands? Shalamar in New York? Shalamar in New Jersey? Oakland, Los Angeles? Chicago? Washington? Any of their major morning talk shows they've appeared? Which do you compare their London performance against? Yes, LISA STANSFIELD's set was decent, but I probably would've received a more exciting pleasurable moment swimming the Atlantic back to my home country than what she brought to the 'Happy days music festival' platform dressed like a STAGE HAND than the STAGE ACT dressed in a tattered, gun medal grey jumpsuit and sneaker. Yeah....the LADY of the Evening brought a lot of CLASS! Just because someone scream "the British are coming" doesn't mean they're going to save the day!
