@@samlibuttiyep he was being rude in his own funny way. And who can blame him. He influenced every last one of the so called greats (white and black) and never got a single ounce of credit for it until recently. It's slowly becoming acknowledged that he was the BIGGEST influence in the creation of rock n roll
I remember watching this with my sister the night it aired. We SCREAMED about it for months. About 12 years ago, I was sitting at the bus stop waiting for the MTA to come my way. It was on a corner in a very busy section of town, so there was a stop light. A black towncar was slowing just ahead so it could stop for the red light. Upon stopping, the rear passenger window went down, and out stretched an arm with an autographed headshot of Little Richard. I looked at the person handing it to me, and it was him!!!! I said my thank you's, to which he replied "You are very welcome, baby! WOOOOOO!!!!!" And there I stood, picture in hand, watching that towncar roll away, taking within it the most confusing brush with insanity that I'll EVER have the pleasure of being part of.

This is the perfect example of how to rise above those who tell you that you cannot succeed! To be told you would never make it on your own and then this happens after hard work and determination are combined.
Beauty inside and out. That speech was perfect. And so was Jody.
Fun fact: Jody had a little known duet with George Michael called "Learn to say no". This was during the Faith era and she commented three words "what a voice!" Yes, we knew then and only got more and more blessed through the decade.
I had forgotten who else was in the BNA category with Jody. That was really tough competition that year, especially with Terence Trent Darby. He had mega hits like "Wishing Well" and "Sign my Name" that year. Jody had back to back hits with "I'm Looking For A New Love", "Don't You Want Me", Some Kind of Lover", and "Most of All". That was a BIG win for Miss Jody!

...but! ...a VERY controversial win; Richard Marx was THE new Artist (in 1987), that had that award with his NAME on it....But, he was disqualified, because he wrote a tune for Kenny Roger's 1984 LP, and the Grammy committee said he wasn't "new', to be a BNA..... (cont.) ...Richard was FUR-I-OUS, and didn't go to ANY Grammy ceremonies.....while Jody won, even though she was in Shalamar since 1977, and, released 8 Albums with them! ...Richard DID get a Grammy, when he wrote "Dance With My Father" for Luther Vandross in 2003, and attended the Grammy's, in honor of Luther, when he had his stroke....

Look at them Loving him ripping Buster for imitating his early look, and *Reading them all for Filth!*
Little Richard was right he was the architecture I love rock and roll. The originator when it came to performing live on stage. He created a new sound. Yes I'm many of us black kids back then we'll see him at the chitlin circuit and trust and believe me quite a few of the white kids would come to the chitlin circuit to see him perform.
Good Mornin'! 😊
1:58 Probably the only shot with Little Richard, Michael Jackson, and Prince in the same frame!😱 Michael is on the front row directly in front of the tip of the stage wear a dark red blazer and shiny metal boots. Prince on the second row further to the right wearing his teal and black “Lovesexy” outfit. Pause and zoom. P.S. Michael was visibly hurt when he walked away empty handed that night and hopefully Richard’s rant kinda put everything in perspective for him seeing how much he accomplished vs what they refuse to acknowledge in Richard.
