He usually plays on electrics with 17 guage strings in b standard so I wouldn't assume there's an octave on that

Dead flat wound strings and a rubber bridge on the guitar. I believe a guy created a playlist on Spotify called rubber bridge songs.

Seems like B standard to me (which is the typical baritone tuning).

Look up Rueben Cox and old style guitars. Rubber bridge modded guitars are so cool! I made a couple myself

Good ear. It's got to be right? No muted treble frequencies, subtle muting throughout. The reverb really does a good job giving the illusion of sustain. What a composition.
