This is why Kelly was so insecure and jealous of Brenda throughout her relationship with Dylan. Dylan always kept that spot in his heart for Brenda and Kelly knew that.

No way! Brenda was a boring dork & more of a mother type figure to Dylan. Gentleman Prefer Blondes 👱‍♀️ & Blondes 👱‍♀️ know how to have more fun!

They definitely needed a break but for Dylan to run straight into the arms of her best friend was SO UNCOOL. Brenda was honest about her fling, Dylan was not. It still gets me how Dylan managed to keep both her and Kelly around for so long.

Personally, I feel Brenda was right to cool things off with Dylan. Continuing to see Rick behind his back would have been scummy, and they had spent most of early season three not really clicking anyway. It's a shame all hell had to break loose not too long after. Had it not been for the shock of seeing Dylan move on just as quickly (with Kelly), I think Brenda probably would have stood firm on her decision, whether or not the show could get Dean Cain for more episodes. That said, kudos to Brenda for breaking up with Dylan so amicably here, and realizing the SAT thing was just a guise to snap at him for what she was feeling deep down.

The end of a great and complex first love... We won't see them as a couple again... But we couldn't have guessed that at the time... During their relationship, Brenda and Dylan went through many things together that certainly made them grow personally.

I think Brenda and Rick were trying to recover their Paris romance but they may have realized that was a fantasy in Paris and not reality.

...Brenda & Dylan are JUST.... *THAT COUPLE* ....(1:24) ...very, very rare to have a Couple (in their Teens, no less), just be...in SYNC with each other....Many People don't get that until their mid-30's! ...and, Brenda meeting the LOVE OF HER LIFE, being her first Boyfriend, is having issues navigating what's the "Real Thing"... (3:25) ...choose wisely, Frankie & Annette.... (3:00) ....

As much as I love the Brenda-Dylan couple, this time they back-stubbed each other far beyond repair. They destroyed the most powerful and authentic relationship of their entire life. They shouldn’t have cheated on each other. They did this to themselves.

Brenda will always be Dylan's love of his life. Kelly you'll always be 2nd best. What goes around comes around

Dylan was just Brenda’s first boyfriend. Crazy to expect her to stay with him forever. She should at least give it a go with the hot college guy 😂

What sucks is that he told her it didn't matter who the girl was that summer but it sure as hell did matter. If she knew it was Kelly, she could have fought for Dylan and I don't think she would have broken up with him or been with Rick. They blindsided her and that wasn't cool at all.

I think the characters of Brenda and Dylan needed to break up and have separate stories from the other.

Dean Cain has a lot of game in this show. He was a good looking nice guy.

Perhaps for Brenda was better Rick in my opinion

I loved Dean Cain as Rick 😍 yet Dylan and Brenda just have that chemistry and history that’s hard to replace. They’re both insecure in some ways and growing up together so their fights are passionate. The whole Dylan and Kelly relationship felt more shallow and not to mention disturbing. 😬

Little that she knew, she let him off to Kelly.

Never liked Dylan character, he’s a bad boyfriend. So I wasn’t surprised when he & Kelly have a romantic fling they both deserved each other.

Interesting Luke or Shannon never guest starred on friends after they left 90210

No, high school students actually acted mature back then. It's society constantly dumbing them down and reducing them to a permanent adolescent. I actually heard someone say 30 is still a baby.

How many of us had that one amazing relationship in our youth... and ended up losing it because society convinced us that there are plenty of fishes in the sea?

As much as I did like them back in the day, man they were toxic.

I’m sorry but Rick was so boring, he’s just a college meathead who’s super lame and Brenda realized that after she broke it off with Dylan. She had buyer’s remorse.

So why is it OK for Brenda to cheat on Dylan but not OK for Dylan to cheat on Brenda? Yeah, it was with their mutual friend which is definitely a low blow but they both cheated.
