Archaeology of Jacob's Well at Shechem
If there is one place where we can know for certain that Jesus was right there, it is at Jacob's Well. How can we know? In the Gospel of John, chapter 4 provides key details needed to be able to trace the archaeology to anchor that well as the very place where Jesus offered the Samaritan woman "living water."

I hate the position science is in. "Real" archeologists refuse to do most of the work because theyre afraid of changing our current understanding of human history. Thats why they wont even look past a certain point because its "too far back" for humanity tho theyve found human remains in fossil records that far back... We are a species with amnesia, and the Younger Dryas event was the Great Flood. We just dont remember

Great work, brother. I just can imagine what it would be like being in that same spot where our beloved and mighty Savior sat. To Him who sits in the highest place be all honor and glory.
This is brilliant - it really brings the Bible closer to us. The shepherd drawing water from a deep, ancient well for his flock touches a sense of reverance for life, for water and for the shepherd's hard work. Thank you!

@@ts7844 When Jesus said he was the door, the shepherd actually sat in the doorway, no one came out but only those he knew came in. Watching the sheep following the shepherd showed how we are to follow Jesus. I didn't know what a sheep pen looked it, there is no roof, so when Jesus said anyone sneaks in, they are the thief. I thought it would be more like a barn, but it's a rock structure out in the open. The sheep follows the shepherd just by hearing his voice, we also will follow when we hear Jesus' voice or calling through the gospels. Just watching the video brought it all to life and drove the point home how we should depend on and follow Jesus.
I got cold chills watching your video. Yes, it is amazing to realize that Jacob dug this well. But, that is nothing compared to the fact that Jesus, my Savior, was at THIS EXACT LOCATION, and this is where the story of Jesus & the woman at the well took place. WOW! How incredible.

Wow, that was a heavy-revy, when he said that the shepherd does all the work, the sheep receives the water from the shepherd. I’ve heard this story my whole life, but only now my brain exploded because comprehension just set in realizing that Jesus describes us as sheep and He is the shepherd - having done all the work. We just choose to receive. I just want to cry, I am so moved.

@@jujjuj7676 strawman. And special pleading. 1. You didn't include any of solid irrefutable evidence listed in the video, in your comment. You call it a hole in the ground. While that is the basis of it, it is a well. More than a hole. 2. It's not just a hole. It's history. 3. What gave man the ability to dig well and deep? Why?
@jujjuj7676
Жыл бұрын
@@davidross5593 No it's a hole, a well is a human defined term. Humans don't get to redefine objects for what they naturally are. If a well has water it's a hole with water used as a well, if a well doesn't then it's a hole. That's like saying a stick is used as a spoon. The hole in the video as assumed to be a well, but that's only what the people assume it was who found it. Did they dig it? How was it found?.maybe it was just a hole they labeled a well? My points is your trying to use special pleading, but you missed the point hence your reference of special pleading is wrong. The strawman term is not even applied to this definition. My definition is fact it's a hole even you agree to that in your own statement. Yours is an assumption on how one uses that hole. Sorry but you need more critical thinking skills..care to try again..i like how you tried to sound smart. I'm rooting for you 👍
@jujjuj7676
Жыл бұрын
@@davidross5593 also wanted to help educate you on the use of special pleading. Special pleading is basically as an assumption. Which is wrong to use when your making a valid case or argument. Your making many assumptions it's a well but ignoring the fact it's still a hole that was assumed to be used as a well. I work with geological foundations all the time and most rock based wells were once natural cracks or crevices people exploited or expanded for other uses one use case could be a well when others could be lava tubes, natural water erosion at the time or simply a hole dug to hide something. A natural event is not a metaphysical event. The people who assume it's God related is the very definition of special pleading which is ignoring other reasons for that hole and calling it something it's not. So to sum it up, go get a higher education and stop trying to use buzz words before you understand the subject or context.
"Like the woman at the well I was seeking for things that could not satisfy, and then I heard my Savior speaking "Draw from My well that never shall run dry!"...Fill my cup, Lord. I lift it up, Lord.
