Is this where Jesus was tried by Pontius Pilate?

In the 1970s, excavations of the western side of Jerusalem's Old City uncovered a monumental gate that led into Herod the Great’s palace complex. Could this be where Jesus was tried by Pontius Pilate and condemned to be crucified? What does the archaeological evidence show?

Seeing the places uncovered, where the Bible describes, brings to life the truth of God's word and a glimpse for many that may never be blessed to walk those streets... Instead of seeing asphalt doing discredit, think of the ironic nature of Herod's great palace being "dirt under the commoners feet" as a testimony to earthly kings passing away, but God's word still remains... And that's proof. Thank you again.🙏

@@floraab1339 Yes, Christ died for all our sins and to be saved you have to accept him as your Savior and be born again. You then enter the spiritual Kingdom of God. But God also made unconditional promises to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (Israel) to give them a Promised Land here on earth and later that a descendant of David would be their King forever. So this is a physical Kingdom on earth which the Bible calls the Kingdom of Heaven. Do a study of “Kingdom of God” (70 times in 69 verses) v “Kingdom of Heaven” (33 times in 32 verses). So it’s best to not try to thwart God’s promises/plans for Israel. Give them their land and give them their peace!

Very interesting. I always was told that Pilate stayed in and operated out of the Antonia Fortress (the large fort-like structure shown over looking the temple on the northwest side of the temple in the reconstruction drawings). This fortress would have been on the east side of Jerusalem near the "Hadrian" gate that the archeologist, Joel Kramer, mentions as the "wrong" gate. So, the "wrong" gate fits with the trial of Jesus by Pontus Pilate being conducted in the Roman-occupied Antonia Fortress. However, Jerusalem as been destroyed and rebuilt over and over and over again since the time of Jesus. This makes any identification of many of the sites in Jerusalem associated with the Bible very, very difficult, if not impossible. Joel Kramer and Shimon Gibson may be on to something with their excavation and theory about Herod's Palace being the place where Pilate conducted the trial of Jesus.

  • @Gutslinger

I was wondering myself. A couple of years ago, I had watched a bunch of videos regarding the Temple and Antonia Fortress. I was trying to remember if they were claiming that those locations related to the trial or not. This particular video makes a very strong case for the actual location, I think.

The Old testaments make way more sense when you take into consideration they are historical events or generational feelings about a topic. Then there’s just the unexplained, like the religious connections between blood and the sun being precede at throughout most religions. It can’t get any more blatant than the comparison between The Three and what ancient Americans believed.

data and religion do not go hand in hand. We must often ignore data and evidence, for faith is to believe in the impossible. Data tells us the earth is 4 billion years old, the bible says it was made 6000 years ago. How can we reconcile these differences? Through faith. Only in God is the infinite real, and thus 6000 years is the same as 4 billion

@blob Bible never tells the age of the earth. The only reason some people say that Bible says earth is 6000 years old is by seeing the genealogy given in the Bible. But, when you read the Bible there are many places where many people are cutter off from the list of genealogy. Science is not against God. Science just tells how something was done, so we can conclude how God created everything. Don't dicivie yourself and read the Bible properly

God bless you from Philadelphia Beloved brother. Amazing information! Stunning discovery. You are guided by the Holy Spirit and Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth Himself is guiding with His outstretched right arm. We as the Church desperately need encouragement and your discoveries are that very encouragement. Difficult times are upon us and all details from the Bible-Gospel relating to Jesus’ crucifixion are a must to comprehend not only physically but also spiritually. Each one of us MUST ask Our Abba Father to carry the cross for Jesus Christ or we will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven. It is a precept- Divine Law. Book of John starting chapter 10 to 15 are so important to understand. Just as each one of us should ask Our Lord what He experienced carrying the cross and anything prior to the beating by iron bells so called Scourging. He had 360 scars. 120 up front and 240 scars in the back. Giving myself over to my Lord’s Will and asking Him what has happened to Him as I read and read over and over what took place to Jesus has changed my life! I eventually added on a film by Mel Gibson. I got intimately closer to Our Messiah. In return He showed me mighty things regarding Shroud of Turin that are prophetically in perfect accordance with Holy Divine Will of Abba Father as it shows clearly what a Hole of a Needle is: parable. It speaks of Two Witnesses and the future return and judgments of Lord Jesus Christ Himself from Isaiah and Revelation. Glory Belongs Only to The Lord Jesus Christ! Alleluia! Thank so much. 😊 - Anna Sz. : )

Thanks for this informative video. Some excellent archeological work has evidently gone on in the recent past, but there currently appears to be a rather cavalier attitude (on the part of the authorities) towards protecting the discoveries, from idle vandalism and destruction. I was horrified that the judgement seat ( obviously an important historical find) has casually been detached from its original location and pushed down into another place below, damaging it. Yet nobody has attempted to correct this? Jerusalem evidently has such a plethora of sights and wonders for tourists and pilgrims alike, that this area doesn’t seem to matter, when it obviously is extremely important. Appalling really☹️
