What I love about this scene is the way how they illustrate who is the most skilled. They didn't show arthur floating around in a goofy stance. Nor was he being clumsy in the movements. He held his own pretty well all things considered. Orm was the most skill in underwater combat. He train a lifetime in the ocean. NO comedy, no witty banter, just a proper duel scene.

The CGI was better in Man of Steel. A film thats 6 years older. Im truly dissatisfied with DC right now.

Notice the attention to detail. They’re pretty much evenly matched in the beginning, when there’s footing. As soon as they shift to the water, Aquaman gets outclassed.

Because it's like this once you open the gates the floods start. The day a comic day movie get a Oscar for special effects it's basically over for all other movie genres. Comic book movies gonna have the best cgi in the business because of the material comics produce and the simple fact you need the best cgi you can to produce some of the comics. Best effects gonna be a staple for comic movies very soon mite not get a best movie Oscar for a comic but I believe very soon a Oscar for best effects/cgi will be a staple for comic movies.

There are definitely a few candidates for the best fights from DCEU movies now with most DC movies having atleast one worthy candidate. The Zod vs Superman fight in Man of Steel, the warehouse scene in Batman vs Superman, The Ring of Fire in Aquaman, The No Man's Land Scene from Wonder Woman, the final brawl in Birds of Prey, the hilarious fight chase with Dr. Silvana in Shazam. Honestly the only DCEU movie that did not have a memorable action scene (at least in my opinion) was Suicide Squad.

I just realized that Orm's armor is based off of the Retiarius armor. The Retiarius is an old Roman gladiator that commonly fight with tridents and nets and wore a full armor sleeve on one arm for defending, and a half cover sleeve for more flexibility for fighting. The little details like this is why I like these movies.

I love how it shows the heartbreak of each of the brothers when they loose their parents tridents in this scene and in the end

What I just noticed in this scene is that orm is striking atlana’s trident in the same spot a whole lot throughout the battle and it finally broke when he stuck it the same way again at the end

This movie is comic book came to life.

when queen atlanna's trident broke, we sympathize with arthur because at this point, it's been said that she's dead and this might be his last memory of her. i think that's why most were surprised that she really is still alive later on.

Hands down, Aqua Man has some of the best fight scenes I've seen in any super hero movie. The story was okay, but just the little shots that are added to compliment the action are fucking beautiful. Also, the DCEU doesn't seem to care much about crazy political ideologies (with the exception of Suicide Squad, which is easily the most trash movie they have), and so again, despite being loved by audiences for it, they get assaulted over it by critics. Too much criticism = no awards.

Orm won, had it not been for Mera this movie would have ended right there.

One thing I love about this movie is the fight scenes and how it does a 360 degree camera angle

As much as I like Arthur, I'm really behind Orm sometimes. Poor man got cheated on by everyone and has plenty of reason to be mad at Arthur.

Best story of all super heroes movies and one of the best movies I have ever seen in my life

That fight was actually good. Compare this to not that fight but to Black Panther Vs Killmonger. It looked like a fucking video game.

DCEU fight scenes always give me the sense of two very hard, very aggressive insects whizzing round and slapping into each other.

The warehouse fight scene in "Batman V Superman" was amazing as well.

Aquaman is my second favorite DCEU film. The first is Man of Steel, but Aquaman’s epic moments have given me so many chills that it’s amazing. The underwater scenes are incredible and this fight scene is so awesome, I would rank it as one of the top ten best DCEU fight scenes. I hope we get to see a sequel soon. Edit: After watching the Snyder Cut, I’m now no longer a big fan of Aquaman. I still like the visuals, but it’s too smooth to resemble anything that would happen underwater. Now, I understand that we’re essentially seeing everything from an Atlantean point of view, meaning everything is clear, crisp, and the world of the ocean is about as clear as the world above, but something the Snyder Cut did was it showed a realistic understanding of what underwater effects would look like, and it’s in no way as clear as this. Now, don’t mistake my point of view, I still love the CGI and the fight scenes in Aquaman, and it still gives me chills, but it just looks too unrealistic to do anything more for me. Also, I know everyone is going to hate me for this, but I think we can all agree Snyder had more respect for Atlantean culture and knew to make their clothing more primitive-based armor and not highly advanced armor. It just doesn’t make sense to see Atlanteans with advanced technology, and somehow be more advanced than humans in this regard, when they have more in common with Amazons than they do humans. Which is why it made more sense for Atlanteans to be just as primitive as Amazons in that they still wear armor and speak in an almost primitive language. And it makes even more sense for them to have their own language when they speak underwater. It shows that Arthur has more connection to his human heritage than he does with his Atlantean side, because he doesn’t speak Atlantean.

Man, this one fight is better than any fight sequence in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom

Orms scream is one of the best things I’ve heard in cinema.

It’s right there with Wonder Woman in No Man’s Land or Reeves Superman reversing the earth saving San Francisco from the Earthquake

Jesus the shots in this scene... is SPECTACULAR

They must've worked real hard for this scene to come out this perfect

This is how I imagine a jedi battle, using the force to propel them for their attacks and such!

@@bred5103 Oscar submissions are on November 15th. And movies that studios want in the academy (whether nominated or win) have to be in by that date. But if the movie is opening in December the studio still has to submit the movie to the academy. It's how Spiderverse, and MPR got in but Aquaman didn't. WB Didn't submit the movie on time.

@@slipstream3903 It does not work that way. Academy Awards nominated movies of the same year regardless of which month. Example, Academy Awards 2019 nominates movies from 2018 only (no late 2017 or early 2019 movies). Also, Spider-Verse and Mary Poppins Returns were released in December 2018 and earlier than Aquaman in the same month. Spider-Verse and Mary Poppins Returns got nominated while Aquaman has none. This is clearly a snub and even James Wan criticised this.

You got to admire these actors for how long they can hold their breath underwater, talk about dedication to their craft!

I remember seeing it in theaters and at 1:44 everyone did the same in theaters. Badass moment.

When watching this movie take a shot every time Orm screams.
