@@Nemenis in the deep oceans the sun doesn't reach, so he's in trouble, besides in cannon comics he cannot breathe without support in deep sea. Therefore he stands no chance, further Aquaman fought him on land it ended in a draw, without his trident. that same trident can kill superman, who is vulberble to magic besides kryponite. Besides don't base yourself on movies they arent accurate, its the comics that are cannon.

Dolph Lundgren has improved immensely in acting over the years . I remember how monotonous and wooden his performance was in Rocky 4 but he was easily one of the best characters in Creed 2 and he expressed Ivan's vulnerability and affection towards his son ( especially after Ivan was having a breakdown at the dinnertable when his mom arrived ) so well.

heard a cool fact about the costumes recently. apparently they wanted more characters to have capes, but they realised that capes would create a lot of drag underwater, so it was restricted to just the royalty. this scene is a good example of that.

Thorgar, Hunter of Incels and Destroyer of Buffets manta is accurate though. The costume is accurate and even accurate to the animation one which is a big surprise since I like it.

I don't know if it's just me but there's something about the people of Xebel that makes them so regal. Definitely a more wealthy, if not more powerful, Kingdom than Atlantis itself. They also have soldiers that possess hydrokinesis. I want to explore their Kingdom and The Fishermen's Kingdom more in the next movie if possible.

@@davidmanners9076 - He literally tell Black Manta: "The submarine was barely functional, but it served its purpose" and his guard hands him a bag of gold. Only thing I'm unclear on is who was piloting the sub? The way Orm worded it, sounds like he had his guys do it, but wouldn't he be afraid of king Dolph Lundgren's own men entering the destroyed sub and finding out it was Atlanteans in it? Would have been awkward. First I figured it must have been Black Manta himself, who snuck out with his cool ship undetected, but: 1) we don't see him leaving 2) And the way Orm phrased it, complaining that it was barely functional (because of Aquaman and Manta's father blowing up parts of it) makes it sounds like he had to deal with it himself. Probably just some nitpicking on my part, but the sub story stuck with me later and despite some googling, couldn't find more about how Orm planned it all

I'd assume that swimming as fast as they do naturally is quite the drain on their stamina. I mean swimming for regular humans is pretty damn tiring. Especially when fully submerged. Atlantians can go what.. About three times that speed? That has to be tiring. It's like horse riding to them. Doing it themselves would be a waste of stamina when they might need it.

This submarine is the same one from the movie's beginning. One of the later scenes reveal that this was the exact reason for it being attacked in the first place; so it could be used as a ploy to force the alliance, as Orm knew it wouldn't go through otherwise. That said, had another force known that this here was the meeting of the two most advanced and hostile of the seas' forces, they might well have gone through with it regardless, though perhaps with more weight behind it. That sub launched 3 torpedoes during the whole fight - enough to make some chaos and confusion, sure, but not nearly the full potential of the surface or even that one craft.

beautiful armor, orm: black color with grey secondary color and a beautiful stripped cape with purple-blue light reflection, king nereus: aqua color with gold secondary color and a green or lime green cape, both of their capes are flapping under water and their armor gives clean reflections, i love the design too... this literary looks like an RPG video game with some awesome looking armors

I mean aren't most comic book movie physics pretty bullshit anyway? lol. DC has a man who has superbreath yet he physically doesn't have the lung capacity to hold all that air inside him, Marvel has every character be able to breathe and survive in entirely different planets without any consequences or need to adjust to the new environment, DC has a man who can run faster than the speed of light who also conveniently doesn't create any major damage to his surroundings as he runs even though the wind speeds near him alone would be more powerful than a category 5 tornado, Marvel has a man capable of shrinking smaller than an atom who somehow doesn't suffocate or get effected by any charged particles like electrons which in comparison to him would essentially be giant hot balls of energy At some point you gotta realize this isn't a Marvel/DC issue, its just a general issue with comic book characters. So if you really wanna bring physics into it, I recommend maintaining a sense of objectivity, or youll just look like a spiteful fanboy lol

The Way Of Water is real close to this level

Only with movie magic can you have a man dragging a trident through approximately 3 inch thick steel. On top of that, the Akula class submarine has a double hull. Orm only punched through the outer hull, he didn’t even touch the pressure hull.

I get the importance but i think the dialogue could have been improved so much more seeing how good the actors are here ! I hope they got a better script for the sequel ( even tho i.... Heard ...it has bigger problems lol)

I think they could have developed Orm better. His whole speech about people on the surface being dangerous to the ocean makes sense, but he does it in a way that we don't believe his intentions are to protect but to use that as an excuse to get power.

The way Orm took out that sub was like how jonas took out the megladon in the Meg

the way the kings statue was built the trench was literally facing Atlantis so it shows that the tench was closer to atlantis than xebel

@big Actually Mera does say this later on and Lundgrens' character acknowledges he knows this was staged but he just went along with it cause even he wants war with the surface

I like how they come up with explosions to everyone's side then disrupting their moments

aquaman is a visual masterpiece , it had non stop entertaining high quality action sequences and epic visiual spectacle also atlantis , the suits and world building and creature designs were majestic and they did justice for the charachter now he is a badass and internationally loved by fans and he has the coolest suit ever and now he is the number 1 dc superhero james wanand his team did an absolutly amazing job working on this film it was a magnificent journey under the ocean and it was entertaining and mind blowing in imax

The real answer is the film makers probably just wanted it to look cool, having a row of sharks staying in unison Although the argument could be made that the gear the sharks are wearing helps them stay still without dying

There wasn't crew inside it. It's the same submarine from the beginning of the film which Black Manta attacked and latter was abandoned.

The power of a torpedo from an Akula class submarine would do alot more damage. I understand he was behind the show of force, but still. Quick fact, Sonar from surface ships and submarines can also be used as a weapon.

This was probably the best piece of acting Dolph Lundgren has ever done. I had to google to confirm it was him.
