@@ironcasm5406 To elaborate on what I mean, it's because the movie can get kinda over the top in a good way, like most comic books are, and even though I love the MCU, they sometimes poke fun at the idea of being to over the top, and it gets kind of annoying but it doesn't really ruin any of those movies for me. But like, the Comic-Accurate costumes, the tone, it's just like a fun comic book. And that's why I find it so cool.

This is officially known as "The movie that actually made Tridents sound like a viable melee weapon."

The action scenes in this movie were so refreshing. Not parkinson camera, too close up shoots and shitty over editing. The camera angles were clean, wide and beautiful, choreography was sick.

@@macvadda2318 I think that's mostly because there have been barley any team up fights in the DCEU. The DCEU fight scenes are better choreographed and have better camara shots. The attacks have more impact and you can tell very well what's happening. Very often in MCU movies the attacks barely connect and the camara movement is too fast

Orm is better than Arter, he was trained by his father in the end, but Arter had a special spear and was able to fight Orm on land

I love how the final fight is a complete parallel to their first fight as now they are fighting on Arthurs's terms and the odds are stacked in his favor. Then there are even other cool callbacks to when he uses Dafoe's move and breaks Orm's trident. Plus the trident combat looks great!

Ocean Master is the best looking villain ever. The dude's suit is perfect. Edit: Damn, so many likes. That was unexpected.

A Mockingbird you have a big problem

The poses in this film was legendary.

One of the best fight scenes i have ever seen, the wind and the water makes you see the impact of all the hits, the choreography and cinematography is outstanding, the sound effects are so unique and satysfing, honestly, this fight was just "chef kiss".

I love the way the rain pours on the Trident. It's so satisfying and it shows it has been crafted with absolutely perfect materials.

Depends on the movie.

I think what I liked the most about this is how even everything is in terms of characterization. They portrayed the purest version of Orm, better even than JL: Throne of Atlantis at some points. Despite being a villain, we can see his point of view and sympathize with him to some degree, feeling humiliated/dishonored after his own mother is branded a traitor all the while his homeland is being tarnished and encroached upon by foreign forces. The chemistry between Arthur and mara felt genuine and natural as well as opposed to other movies. This movie was great and had me on the edge of my seat the whole time, idgaf what the reviewers being bought out by disney and marvel says, this movie was absolute quality. Looking forward to more from DC and James Wan.

Certainly so: While Orm has a point about how humans suck as an especies, I couldn't also avoid sympathizing with the fact that his descent into villainy was caused by things that were way out of his control, mainly his parent's loveless marriage, the racism of the Atlanteans and his deeply ingrained inferiority complex towards Aquaman, because despite Atlanna loving them both equally, Orm always thought that he was an unwanted child, a living reminder of his parent's loveless marriage, feeling also that Atlanna only saw him as a spare, rather than as a person with thoughts and ideas of his own, and in her thoughts(in Orm's eyes) comparing him to Arthur/Aquaman. All this whole conquest and war towards Humanity is nothing more than his way to prove those who had him in lesser consideration were wrong with him, to lash out towards others and to have some form of self fullfillment and to drown his perceived lack of worth. While it doesn't justify his worst actions, at least we get why he behaved that way.

I had no idea James Wan directed this movie

I love how at the end of the fight Aquaman acknowledges that killing is wrong after accepting that he screwed up in letting black manta's father die

Everything from the cinematography to the action Andrew the music made the scenes more epic as well such as this one

I love that James Wan did some scenes in style of Zack Snyder, and that Patrick Wilson played Orm who also was in Zack Snyder's Watchmen as Nite Owl. Can't wait for more Aquaman in the Snyder cut.

@@nsq2487 in the comic, it had everything to do with his helmet and trident, they controlled the weather and sea. But this version is simply a title after having control over all Seven Kingdoms military.

I just like how they kept the outfit faithful to the comics and cartoons and still look good on screen. A lot of comic characters (Mostly villains) have outrageous costumes that don't translate well to cinema imo but here they nailed it.

The amount of respect I have for the whole prod of this movie is through the roof. Clearly, some of the best vfx I have seen. Only from USA!!

I love this final battle. It totally has that Injustice: Gods Among Us vibe.

This particular scene had so many good shots, like Arthur breaking Orm's Trident, Arthur's epic landing shot, and the scenic battle arena they fight on

Agreed, he quick dropped but landed in slow-motion, so epic the way it looked.

The trident spinning part always gives me goosebumps 😩

I've always loved fights like Neo vs Smith or Obi Wan vs Anakin, where camera was showing whole duel in interesting way, but last times, movies were doing it horribly, with too many cuts and too close shots. Aquaman showed me that there are still people able to do not only a good job, but a true masterpiece

Fun fact: The King shown at 0:24 is Dolph Lundgren who also played in Rocky IV as the boxing villian Sylvester Stallone told him to punch him for real to make the movie look good and ended up putting Sylvester in a hospital for 4 and a half days!
