Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 Review (2019) | BikeSocial

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

It’s been 17 years since Aprilia whipped the fairings off an RSV and claimed to have created the hyper naked class. A class which the Noale-based firm hasn’t necessarily dominated in terms of the outrageousness and quality of its machinery… until recently. The 2017 Tuono V4 1100 was something to behold. An absolute beast of bike with poise, power and precision and one which I fell in love with.
Then, for 2019, along came an upgrade with semi-active Ohlins suspension. So, off we went to Italy to try it out.

    I've had mine for just over two weeks now and I'm loving it. I never thought I'd find a bike I would enjoy as much as my Speed Triple but this is a huge leap forward. My Speed Triple might just end up for sale.

Then a hot day last year Aprilia finally had a test drive/test ride on 5 different Aprilia included RSV RF also a bike that i wanted to test then when i came back i was like daym impressive RSV RF i want one inastant want one..Then the beautiful sales girl were like do you wanne test the TUONO?? and i were like ehhhhhh i am not sure, but she insisted, she swore it was a good bike and she also said mostr guys that return falls for the Tuono i said: you luny hahaha =) Well off i went and after 100meters i retuned and said OMFG the best bike ever i have felt the TQ and the sound autoblipper was fing fantastic hahah =) So i went on and rode it for like an hour we only had 15-20min HAHAHAHAH i didnt give a fook lost in time and space with this thing!! But has it become a better street bike and not a naked superbike? I mean this bike is super agile and capable yet very stable when the speed creeps up but is this new 2019 Tuono a proper street bike at slow speeds? As far as I know the Tuono still has the same character as the rsv4 making it a bit cumbersome(you feel the weight of the bike) at slow traffic jam speeds :P

    There is always a thing about this bike that none of the reviewer gets right. The riding modes. Which on this bike, even if they are called like that, they only affect the engine braking, not the throttle mapping. Which makes me think how much the reviewer really understood about the bike as opposed to reciting the press release. Oh and btw, the new thing about this is the electronic suspension. Can the modes be switched while riding ?

  • @RandomUserName111112

    @RandomUserName111112

    That's not correct. Throttle response is different between sport race and track. I believe track is less aggressive throttle response in gears 1-3. Race most aggressive response, with least engine braking. I use sport for town riding and race for higher speed roads. Wish my 2018 had a configurable mode though.

    I owned a 2016 Super Duke 1290 GT. I loved that motor with lots of torque(7500 rpm) and full horsepower by 9500 rpm. When my son stole it, I bought a 2018 Super Duke 1290r. There is no motor out there with as much torque and horsepower. I did look at the Tuono but it does not look like a naked bike. Where is its Led headlight? That front fairing is huge. Everyone is going with V4’s because ofemissions /horsepower and the mass centralization of a V4. The KTM has a lumpy motor feel with those 4.25 inch pistons. It feels like a dragster at idle.

KTM is TQ and only wheelie a Tuono jsut set a better lap times then a 2018 R1 hahahah it also had the higest corner speed on many corners.. you have a sick autoblipper and QS and quaility for days vs KTM.. then you have a wheelie mahcine if you want a calm cruiser.. Not even on the same planet.. this is why Tuno ALWAYS WINS the naked shoout easy and KTM is dead last almost every time.. I got one, non of these Aprilia sponsored tests mention the toy switchgear or very basic anti wheelie and traction control which cut the power abruptly even set to one, no feathering at all. I keep my anti wheelie and TC turned off because I don't like the engine effectively turning off during an overtake or when pulling out of a corner. 8 Levels of TC but none of them useable. Rear exhaust heats up the rear shock which affects the shock more than the electronics so they are just wasted. Thought I would love this bike but am just finding it frustrating that it's so nearly exactly what I wanted but it's let down by poor attention to detail and bad engineering. No Japanese bike would ever get to production with these obvious faults. Aprilia keep throwing bling and nice names at the Tuono but they have fundamental design faults that don't get addressed. Sounds as good as an R1 and much better than a Panigale but that's where it ends.

    Putting motocross handlebars on an RSV4 does not make this a naked bike, it's still pretty much fully faired. I wish Aprilia would ditch the stationary front fairing and put a proper naked bike headlight on it that moves with the fork. Then I would consider it, but as it is it's just plain ugly looking.
