Oooh, I can tell by the way you cook your dumplings, you make some good "Fried Apple Pies." God bless you Chris. My Grandmothers have all passed and I miss them so. But you cook so many things like them and I love watching you cook like I enjoyed watching my grandmothers cook. I'm the "COOK" in my family. So, my family always ask me where you learn how to cook the things she didn't teach me or something new that I don't always cook and I PROUDLY say from my (Virtual) Grandma Chris!!!!!!! LOL. They always ask, "WHO IS THAT?" I just start laughing. But what I didn't learn from my grandmother's, I learn from you. Thank you for your gift of cooking and telling it like it T-I-is. And for bringing me much joy through the nostalgia of sitting at my table and watching you cook. I LOVE YOU!!!!!!! -Nikki

I'm filing this one away to try at a later date. Ms. Chris, do you. Just because some people can't follow directions doesn't mean you shouldn't continue to bake for those of us who can follow directions. All these bakers on KZread, they get the same flack you get but they keep pressing on. More than half of the folks complaining didn't even try your recipe, they were trolling. So don't let the negative folks interrupt your groove. I love to bake and I enjoy knew recipes and new twists on old favorites. I would love to see what you do with some of them.

I love all your videos. See this recipe is better presentation and not as messy to eat with the little silver spoons you serve at thanksgiving.. love this one, Chris you are making me gain weight omg. Love this recipe

@ Courtney Pollick Thanks you for your comment including the apples were soft, as there are young and older folks in this family who have bad teeth or no teeth and they don't eat apples. Apples are so nutritious and a fruit we all need to incorporate into our diets. The texture of the apple was something I thought about - wondered if I could steam them first - mostly making applesauce from fresh apples. When the isolation pandemic started all there was were the cresenct rolls with fruit filling, apple and cherry, in the dairy section and canned fruit filling in my pantry. They really came through! These Pillsbury, everything, crusts are great to always have in the fridge. So, thanks again for your comment 'cause I feel better about knowing these people will eat it, instead of giving them to the birds - which is awesome, too. The little birds love the apples and crusts in the bird feeder 🕊🍎🐦🍎🕊🥐🍎🦅

Hi Chris, I owe a friend home-made apple dumplings, which I had never made or even eaten before. I'm a decent cook, so normally I look online and find a well-reviewed recipe and follow the instructions with great results, but this time the recipe did not give clear instructions on rolling the dumplings - so I searched youtube for a visual. Then I came across your video. I fast-forwarded to the rolling part, then heard how you explained the process so had to watch the whole thing. Glad I did! You give such clear instructions - I'm subscribing.

🎄💞🎄 I've also made these for years💞Your explanation was great for those that are learning to bake or cook💞This put that Arkansas lady to shame💞The only thing I do a little different is sprinkle a Lil cinnamon on top of dumplings before baking, sometimes add a sprinkle of chopped pecans on top & we like the dough to be a Lil more of light brown crust on top so that they're not too "doughy" 💞Enjoy your family 💞12.25.2022🎄💞🎄
