I’m sorry and I understand that experiencing your mom in pain must be difficult. My own mom is 96, she’s had a heart attack and a couple of strokes, she’s frail and is basically waiting to die. So I know what it’s like to have an elder parent suffering from advanced “old age”. But here’s the point that a lot of people seem to miss. Extending the human lifespan is not about extending that period of your life where you’re old and decrepit. Longevity is about keeping what we know as “old age” at bay for as long as possible and to remain “young” way beyond what is considered normal. It’s about extending your “health span”, that part of your life where you’re active, energetic and full of life. It’s about compressing that portion where we’re frail and sick down to 5 years or less, that portion that comes at the end of our lives and lasts for up to 20 or 30 years in some folks and that is known as “morbidity”. If we can do that, if we’re still healthy, mobile, energetic and active at 90, or 100, then we’ll have extended our lives a decade or two beyond the normal lifespan of 75 or 80. Had longevity interventions been available to my mom and had she lived a longevity lifestyle her whole life, I believe that she would now be living her life at the same pace she did when she was in her 50s or 60s. That’s what longevity is all about.

How sad that you are tired of your Mother. But is she wanting to die now, or is it just convenient for you? My father in law is 97 and although he lost his wife last year he still wants to live. So maybe you have pain. Maybe you even have migraines, do you want to die?? I can't get over how young people want us to die and get off the Social Security that WE, not the government, paid in since our first jobs. You sound exactly like a Republican. Check your Bible and really analyze why you think old people should die. Maybe you can find some advice there instead of Fox News!

People should be aware of Metformin dide effects. Metformin eats up the vitamin B12 in your liver, when it's depleted you muscles and connective tissue gets eaten away. If you have pain, join or muscle pain stop using it for a couple days and your pain may go away. Metformin nearly killed me and i have deterioration of muscle and organism. It didn't slow or stop me from cancer. I have a pace maker, liver damage among other ailments. It killed my father because it wasn't caught in time. This video is so inaccurate it's scary.

I was diagnosed T2D in August 2021. I was 46, my glucose was 210, my A1C was 8.4, and I weighed 240 lbs. Metformin, along with a healthy diet and exercise, has helped me to drop my A1C down to 5.2, my fasting glucose usually sits in the upper 80s to low 90s, and my weight has dropped down to 198. I cannot begin to state how much better I feel. But at 48, I look and feel better than I did at 28.

This is an update regarding my Type 2 Diabetes. I went to have my bloods checked about a week back. I went to see the Diabetic technician last Tuesday. This is what happened and I will explain why. She asked what I thought my results were like ?. I said I had no idea ( how could I when she had all the info on the computer which I could not see ). Your results are excellent. I have changed my diet as follows. Eating scrambled egg for breakfast with my tablets, plus drinking half a bottle of pure orange juice, 25 mls of Aloe Vera and a coffee with coffee mate and 3 sweetners and drinking bottled water. At about 10 am I have several cooked chicken slices with a baby bell and a mature cheddar both are about 20 gram portions. I have the same at about 2 or 3 pm. I have the same at 4.30 to 5 pm. I have 2 baby bell cheeses at about 9 pm. I have cut out all the salads. I walk about 2 to 3 miles per day. I have lost 14 pounds in weight and I have lost 3 to 4 inches from my waste. I allow myself about half a bar of Bourneville dark chocolate each day. I should also add I am 1 mmol from going into remission. I am now borderline Type 2 Diabetic and have started to take a multi vitamin and multi mineral she suggested I should take. If I can do this at age 69 years old anyone can do it. Cut out ALL alcohol as well. I hope this helps anyone else trying to lose weight. I have. PC. 06. 07. 2022. PS. Any questions ?.

I started metformin for insulin resistance, I can say this, my mental health has improved drastically, it definitely does something over all I also am more thirsty and I feel warmer in the body. I just started so Im hoping it does help with my weight which I think it will. Im thinking the higher body temp is burning fat.

My wife had stage III cervical cancer she had surgery and radiation on. It went into remission. Then years later she had breast cancer which she had surgery on to remove. After hearing metformin might prevent cancer I gave her small amounts of my metformin which she is still taking present day. She has been cancer free for over 11 years now. For people that are afraid to take metformin there is goat's rue of which metformin is derived from and is probably about the same.

While N=1 experiments have to be taken with a huge bucket of salt, were your observation to be found to have valid biological basis, it would support my hypothesis about metformin that while it probably wont touch anyone who is in absolute and perfect state of fitness (which is less than 0.1% of humanity) the magic that metformin shows that there is some sort of pathology underway that it can somehow fix be it diabetes, cancer or something. Then the results of metformin trial should turn out to be encouraging. But I think it will cut both ways. While some people notice relief of cancer with its others would see a rise in the cancer so in the end, we won’t be any further ahead. This was observed in a tiny recent lifestyle-based study by the Lifespan. While some observed biological clock showing other shockingly saw it accelerating. The mystery of aging and how to temper with it is going to stay an enigma for long time if not eternity.

My Metformin adventure started 8 weeks ago. My weight has dropped from 210lbs to 190lbs from Sept/22 to Nov/22. I'm not pre-diabetic, so I'm taking it off-label. Motivated after studying Dr. David Sinclair, (my son said we should be guinea pigs and do this experiment} taking Berberine, Resveratrol, NMN and practice regular intermittent fasting. He is doing it for longevity to live to 150 years. I am doing it NOT to extend my life but to reverse my biological age so that I have the cardiovascular performance, physiology and hormones of a 20 year old cyclist, yogi at the age of 100 years. I take Metformin rather than Berberine as Metformin is David Sinclair's first choice. My target weight is to lose another 30lbs to get down to my college weight of 160 pounds over the next 3 months. I regularly fast and eat OMAD (one meal a day) and am active every day either cycling or yoga.

In August, 2020, I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Since then I have embarked on a serious physical regimen to slow the progress and hold my PD at Stage 1. My weight is down to 170 lbs., the lowest since high school. I have built muscle mass and my fitness level is greatly increased. When people meet me, they think I might be 60, which is gratifying. So I don’t think it’s just the Metformin, but clearly I am a very healthy “sick” person, and don’t feel or look my age.

This is very interesting. I am 59 and was put on Metformin a couple years ago, and I hate it. Mainly because I hate being Type 2 diabetic and I hate taking pills. That said, I have lost 30lbs and feel great. I even went on a 500 mile bike ride this summer and aced it. I haven't felt this good in years. I chalked it all up to the exercise, but after watching your video and doing some research over the last few days..... I'm starting to think I may like that I am taking this Metformin. I have so much to learn! THANK YOU for this wonderful information. I will continue to exercise and ride my bike. :-)

I'd say i will happily accept normal aging. Metformin made me extremely sick. "it will pass" they said. 8 years of that garbage from them without them investigating or even trying to help me. I had explosive diarrhea to the point i could not leave home and had to stay near a bathroom at all times. I had ZERO warning, ever, even when taking antidiarrheal twice per day (also very unhealthy). I was weak, severely fatigued, and dangerously dehydrated (and it wasn't even helping my blood sugar any more!). I finally had enough and went to a different doctor and got put on different medications. Within 2 days of stopping metformin, guess what. Yep, you guessed it, normal bowel behavior. Never again.

I have been on 2000mg Metformin for a year. The only side effect is decreased appetite with the positive result of losing 30 lbs and feeling very well. Occasionally some GI 'hurry" if I don't take it with enough food. I take B12, and eat a healthy, balanced diet. HBP is easily controlled with meds. I am 89 and work 2 days a week by choice, drive, and take care of my house and garden (that is my main exercise). and volunteer in several capacities. All good. It is an interesting drug that I understand has been used in other areas, e.g. as an anti-flu medication in the '40's. Presumably, because it has an anti-inflammatory effect.

The lactic acidosis was always a very unlikely side effect. Many drugs now list side effects up to and including possible death. This is a result of too many lawyers and drug companies trying to put the liability for anything negative that even "might" happen, no matter how unlikely on the person who takes the drug. The goal is, no matter what happens, you were warned. By the time this gets to the internet, as in this case with metformin, it has turned into, "metformin will kill you"! This is what the internet does, more often than not......

Could it be that your body just needs metformin to function better? Just because someone who comes off their blood pressure meds has their high blood pressure come back, doesn’t mean their blood pressure medication made their body less able to manage it, it just means they might need meds to help treat their chronic high blood pressure? I’m taking metformin to help with weight loss, certainly hope it won’t make my body less efficient!

Good luck with the timed release......After 30 plus years of taking 1000mgs 2Xdaily of metformin (and breaking the pills in half, taking them 4 times daily) I decided to try the extended release version. I quickly gave that up because control of my blood sugar was not even close to what It was with my 4 times daily dose of metformin. Went back to what was working well.........If I just took the timed release pills and did not check my blood sugar often, I would likely be happy with them.....

Tried it for this, gave me pretty intense hypoglycemia after a couple weeks. I eat healthy, not on any other meds. I was taking 500 mg, cut it in half to 250, still getting the shakes unless I eat sugar or carbs . I did have controlled hypoglycemia before....I will stop it a while, which will balance it out, then try 100 mg.

It’s hard to get this on prescription if you’re not diabetic . I’ve been experimenting with Berberine which is supposed to have a similar effect on blood glucose. It’s an ancient, therefore, well tested remedy. So far it’s having a quite good effect on my appetite.
