I'm really happy things seem to be working out, Simple. I know that kind of decision making and major change can be really scary and stressful, especially when you feel like you're taking a chance and moving to something less guaranteed. But I hope you're able to see for real that all the people you've touched with your content and your personality really do have your back, and we all want to see you succeed!
The best red coin levels in the original mario 64 were those where they were tied to specific small areas with tight platforming (TTM, THI, TTC, RBR) but it wasnt too bad in the other levels aswell cause all the levels were pretty compact. Red coins in Rom hacks can be annoying cause they are sometimes just spread out and hidden throughout the whole level. The challenge in the original was never where are the redcoins, but how do I collect them without falling/dying. If more romhacks had that philosophy when placing red coins they would be fun even without the 6/8 or radar.
The biggest mistake of every game dev ever is not having Simple bug test their game

Simpleflips' streaming on KZread. I finally caught a Simpleflips stream, literally. I became a member. I will never forget this experience.
I still love what Foxen did with red coins in Cursed Castles, where every red coin is placed in a spot that's thematic to the mission, like "every red coin is on top of a flower" or something like that, so you have a better idea of where each one would be
@Orangestar1
3 жыл бұрын
My favorite red coins in SM64 were thematic ones like that, where each red coin was in an obvious position theoretically but still required you to seek them out. I think that's the best option. It's a better option than what f'n SM64DS did with silver stars and just put those mofos on the map like oh great, thanks, didn't wanna have to think anyway.

Okay, let's be real. The only feasible way to defeat the penny would be to toss it into a Black Hole, and we're not even completely sure that would work lol.

The abrupt ending is cause simples computer froze and the recording stopped while the stream stayed on.
I was never able to catch your streams on twitch before, but luckily was able to watch this one stream to youtube. I know there has always been a timer but seeing the amount of content that gets cut down and highlighted into one of these videos really makes me appreciate the effort and care that goes into the editing process. Great content as always, cant wait for the next stream and/or video
I literally started counting minutes to see how long simple took to jump up to the roof at the start. It turned out to only be like 9-10 minutes, so not worth talking about. I also really love the smile on simple's face when he talks shit, it really shows how happy he is. Also is your shoulder better now dad?
I seriously don’t know why but I just love his context! His videos are simply fun! (No pun intended)
This hack has god tier music choice, everything from super Metroid to crash bash to primal dialga from mystery dungeon.
Simple said he didn’t know how to make a Tetris video, so here's a checklist. - call your opponent an idiot for less than no reason - have a zoomed-in hyper focus downstacking montage - say various vulgarities regarding genitalia when you win/lose - slow motion misdrop + complaining how that one piece ruined everything - making some poor soul disconnect for getting ruthlessly destroyed
I might end up stopping the Wiggler counter. I made my legacy in one video and I think that’s good enough. That being said, there wasn’t a Wiggler fight in this video. Drystreak: 3, i think. Perhaps this will be the last one

As an Australian I thank you deeply for inverting the timer. I always struggle reading upside down. I'm still a little sad you didn't start speaking upside down too, but oh well, can't have everything.
This one was like the first time many of us were able to catch a simpleflips stream, wantvtobthank you again for always being close tobyour fans in that sense and for, as always, being a great entretainer Now time to see the schmooves
5:18 64DS highlighted them on the map when you talked to a bob-omb buddy. I think if they were only highlighted when talking to them it’d work.
The editing on this was superb. Great entertainer given the chance to shine with small additions.
Mans died the same way too many times, prerecorded stream
Simple, you're a good dood and a good content creator. You really care about your team, your community, and your audience and it shows. I'd watch you do/play anything, you're just an entertaining guy. Super excited to catch more of your youtube streams
This video brought me some legitimate joy i haven't felt in a while... thank you and I'm happy things are going well.
The music from the star select screen is from Crash Bash and it really makes me want to play that game. Also a good collection of soundtracks from different games overall.
This was the first stream I caught, I remember watching I think the whole thing, I recognize basically everything Simple says and most of the donations in this video. Anyway, this was really a great experience when I watched it, I'd hope to catch more streams in the future. Hope the secret project if it isn't done is coming along well, and cheers to Nolan, Matt, and Vic, and whoever else has made this channel so great. Also Simple I guess he does the inputs or something I think? What does he do for the channel again... oh, he plays the game. I thought that was Mario this whole time.
I've been so hyped for the release of this hack in particular
The 2d thing is literally super paper Mario. So cool
Fun fact: The L to break out of 2D isn't as unique as you might think. It is very likely based off of what happened in Super Paper Mario where you could use a meter to enter 3D and you'd take damage if you remained in it for too long, but otherwise were in a 2D plane.
"don't look at my inputs or my son's inputs ever again" rofl
Bro im losing my mind at how good this vid is. This is amazing,

Thank you Simple and editor of this video, you saved my day.
tbh you're such a mario 64 legend every time i do something cool in a platformer i legit go ''shoutout to simpleflips'' to myself.
5:18 it's actually pretty simple: just place all of them in roughfully the same area in close proximity to each other. That way you can atleast narrow down the location of the last coin and don't need too fear dying with 7 reds. Even Vanilla SM64 does this in most of its later levels, but many rom hacks, even popular ones like Star Road do this mistake over and over again where they place 8 reds in the most random places possible
My first simpleflips video i watched after hearing about you on swankybox's video on the textureless anomaly in mario 64. And i am not dissapointed :)
The game is aim towards poopy players Simple: *gets bamboozled by fake platform*
This stream was hype as hell
Dude, this Mario hack looks INSANE!
Love the Twilight Princess City in the Sky recreation.
Dude I dont know if it was because this was his first stream on youtube or what but this video was super enjoyable to watch
i hope the Simple makes another tetris race video, those were always my favorite
I love how genuine he was when he said "don't do this to me"
After you beat the last boss you hit a switch that activates the red coin detector cap that spawns from a block right near where you spawn into each level.
Keep up the good work Simple.
I've seen noone comment about this but, I know it's very simple and don't know whether or not it takes effort to do but the little screen shakes simple does whenever he yells like roanin makes it 150% better
I love you SimpleFlips
This was the first time seeing the stream on live, it was cool
Lol that ad right before grabbing the star. How climactic
Thanks to SimpleFlips the Rom Hack Community is really thriving. I just wish that games other than Mario 64 got as much attention, I'd love a Zelda Ocarina of Time rom hack competition.
Thats so feckin topical, i literally just watch the sm64online videos this morning
I'm at work and Gang Starr - Above the Clouds came on when you went to that stage
Dad is hilarious once he's trying to do insane shit.
32:00 lmao great edit
Complex Leaps back at it again
i missed the shit out of these kinds of videos. awesome work
Duude the Metroid music in this hack is so good
The goddamn bottom text earthbound gets me every time
what a great entertainer he is
The forest level using maze of memories from klonoa 2... so good to see it showing up, game needs more recognition.
You gotta love how at the beginning he just went from “This jack is so awesome” to “Don’t. Please.” so quickly.
Ah, another hack with a song from PMD! (Wing Cap stage - 21:08) Sky Sanctuary Zone from Sonic comes right after and man is that such a good Wing Cap theme. Also who put my Super Paper Mario mechanic in SM64???
Magic often works on technicalities, so maybe melting the penny would make it not a penny and stop the curse.
Just a comment for the algorithm. Also, that cannon shot at 13:47 was a god gamer move
I caught part of this stream how neat! I didn't see enough to make the joke though.
Yo what up dad
itd be really cool to see someone upload the soundtracks for these hacks, some of the music is incredible. i really want a rip of the mountains above the clouds stage music
Sweet fan hack and looks super fun, great aesthetics except for the weird gem looking coins
I came into my lunch break watching Simple trying to get on that roof. I left my lunch break watching Simple trying to get on that roof.
loved the brinstar music I like to speedrun that game in my free time
I can’t help but think that the 3d idea in the game where your health depletes the longer you stay in 3d cane from Super Paper Mario on the Wii where the longer you stay in 3d you lose more health
Imagine how cool it would be if Simple's project was a 3D platformer for Switch starring himself.
Ah yes, the stream where everyone kept wondering why the timer was upside down
I love hearing metroid music in rom hacks
